Happy Beaujolais Nouveau Day 21 Albertiners!
Here at n.1 wood lane, we have been celebrating this day of joy, laughter and togetherness for more than 40 years, until Covid brought it to a sadden stop last year.
To all of us, tonight it will be much more than an another night of drinking and cheesy French tunes...
Tonight it will also be a reminder that all bad things pass, that life goes on and that it does so even better when wine is involved!

Fit, sun-kissed and effortlessly cool like his wine, 'The Juice Asylum - Terzo Grado'.
Winemaker Alessio Guidi will be with us next Wednesday for "Shaking off the dust", a wine tasting about producers who despite working in Classic Italian appellations challenge the preconceptions and stereotypes associated with them.

The journey will start with two Alpine whites from the enfant terrible of Alto Adige then move to Montalcino, with the vibrant Brunello rosé of

We will then taste the biodynamic Chianti Classico of Susanna Grassi of and finally, Alessio's Montepulciano, a wine we never seem to get enough every year!

and will be at Alessio's side like Fujiko and Gaemon, and our chefs will send out canapés to go with the wines... so you can snack and enjoy while you learn something new and have a good time.

Juicy winetasting ahead Albertiners!
Next in the series of winetasting hosted by Rob Freddi () we have winemaker and bon vivant extraordinaire Alessio Guidi aka coming to Albertine Wednesday 10th November at 7PM.
Wine boss and good friend will be in attendance too, adding grace and auctoritas to the wine evening.
Alessio will be presenting 5 wines hailing from prestigious Italian appellations but vinified with mischievous disregard to what it is normally expected from them - prepare for your mind to be blown!
If you managed to drink some of the 'Juice Asylum' Rob snaps every year thanks to his Italian connection with Alessio and Sara, you already know yer man. If not, this is your chance!
In 2016 Alessio started producing a wine in Montepulciano using the biodynamic grapes from the prestigious Avignonesi vineyards that became that year's sensation, a cuveé called 'The Juice Asylum'
Alessio is dedicated to terroir-driven wines, and embraces the idea of allowing grapes to have an experimental playground, where the natural elements are encouraged, then put into a facility, an "asylum" if you will.

Count down to the wine tasting with Darren Smith.

These wines are like mandalas, there is one perfect vintage and then the magic is over, never replicated and forever living in memories.

A massive thank you to all who came to support Albertine, our local community, and the NHS last Saturday at the Cardross Street Party X Royal Marsden Hospital.
Also thank you to Ursula for inviting us to be part of it, and to Pauline for volunteering at our stalls.
So lovely to see such a brilliant turn out, this could have not gone any better. We are still buzzin'

If you want to throw your children on a bouncy castle whilst you mingle with mates, take in some Albertine vino and guffaw like a good'un then join us at the CARDROSS STREET PARTY this Saturday, 11th September from 14.00-20.00.
There is going to be a piper, live music, ice creams, pulled pork buns, and the aforementioned bouncy castle as well as a Cake Baking Competition judged by our very own Allegra.
We will be there with not one but TWO gazebos, serving easy drinking party wines, focaccia Pugliese, Mortadella a go-go and Goose's infamous Sicilian sausage rolls.
We are giving 20% of our profits to The Royal Marsden Children Hospital.
Please come along in droves and support your community, the NHS as well as your local wine bar.
