Half term by the river sorted.

Stay at The Mitre for easy days out, palace adventures at Hampton Court Palace, and plenty of space for kids (and dogs 🐾) to roam. Just outside London, but feels like a proper escape. https://mitrehamptoncourt.pulse.ly/qvvv1sy349

Riverside indulgence at its finest 🌸

At The Mitre, afternoon tea is a floral feast of blooms, bubbles, and (plenty of) cake, served just moments from the water.

A refined ritual of sweet and savoury treats, best enjoyed slowly, with views of Hampton Court Palace across the river.

A few new flavours to discover at Signet.

Think smoked chalk stream trout, burrata with Isle of Wight tomatoes, Yorkshire beef tartare… followed by Herdwick lamb rump, pan fried Cornish halibut, courgette risotto... and perhaps a Signet’s Summer Sangria in between. https://mitrehamptoncourt.pulse.ly/eaef1upohr

Spring shows up first on the terrace at The Mitre 🍸

Glasses in hand, the river drifting by, and nowhere else to be. One drink turns into two, and suddenly the afternoon feels endless.

Some stays are planned… others simply feel like a good idea.

An early evening by the river where time slows a little, a table set with something warm and seasonal, and another glass poured without much thought. Upstairs, a room is waiting, and in the morning, breakfast comes unhurried, just as it should be.

At The Mitre, it’s never just about the night away,
it’s everything that happens around it. https://mitrehamptoncourt.pulse.ly/bvtl8hdayg

They called him Old Coppernose.

Over time, the silver on Henry VIII’s coins wore away, revealing the copper beneath, and the nickname stuck.

Just a short walk from The Mitre, The Coppernose Café carries the name today. A relaxed, neighbourhood spot for coffee, light bites and an easy pause in the day. Perfect for a quick breakfast, a slow lunch, or something in between after a wander around Hampton Court. https://mitrehamptoncourt.com/eat/the-coppernose/

Stay a while…

Just across the bridge from Hampton Court Palace, The Mitre is your invitation to slow everything down, river walks at golden hour, lazy mornings that turn into long lunches, and nights that don’t rush you anywhere.

Check in, switch off, and let the Thames set the pace. https://mitrehamptoncourt.pulse.ly/0jfqrm7b4g

Wake up right on the river...

With views across the Thames, our rooms are made for slow mornings, open windows, and watching the water drift by. A stay here is all about switching off, settling in, and soaking up the calm.

No crown required, just a sense of adventure and the confidence of someone who absolutely believes they know how to steer. The Thames drifts past The Mitre at its own regal pace, making it the perfect excuse to swap rushing around for a little riverside mischief.

World Malbec Day is marked each year on 17th April, honouring the moment in 1853 when Argentina began its journey with the Malbec grape. A decision that would go on to shape its wine industry and define a global favourite.

Today, it’s a celebration of Malbec’s versatility and character, from deep, bold reds to something a little softer and more fruit-led, always best enjoyed in good company.

Here’s to taking a moment, and raising a glass.

A new season on the menu.

At 1665 Brasserie, spring brings lighter plates, fresh flavours and a reason to linger a little longer by the river. Thoughtful cooking, served without fuss, whether it’s a long lunch, an easy dinner, or something in between.

Go on, book a table.
