The Idle Hour, Barnes was a unique and hidden away gem of a pub and restaurant. With its multi-award winning burgers, massive selection of spirits including over 25 gins, clever happy hour offering a free second drink in any happy hour, £10 multi curry nights every Wednesday featuring Indian, Thai and fiery Trinidadian cuisine, a huge wine list with nearly 20 options by the glass, great music, and super friendly staff who truly cared about the customers' enjoyment, there were countless reasons to visit. Unfortunately, after 15 years of operation, The Idle Hour has permanently closed. This closure adds to the growing statistics of independent pubs shutting down. It is suggested to support the remaining ones in the area.
