Few things are as simply delicious in a bakery repertoire as a freshly baked scone. Laden with clotted cream & house made jam - just the best! This is the last weekend when they’ll be in our counter as we make way for a more autumnal menu. We’ll continue to bake them to order via the website though. In boxes of 6.

House made lemon curd with blackberry compote, Greek yoghurt, honey & our sesame nut granola on the menu this weekend. Blackberries grown on our sister farm, honey made by the busy bees here on Broomfield. All together a wholesome, delicious bowl.

JUST OUTSIDE MEDWAY: Meopham PYO 🍓🌻
A little recommendation from just outside Medway…
We spent this morning at MeophamPYO and, with the sun shining, it turned out to be a pretty lovely way to spend a Saturday morning.
There are rows and rows of strawberries to pick, along with sunflowers, and there’s something particularly satisfying about wandering through the fields and coming away with a punnet you’ve picked yourself. 🍓
But one of our favourite discoveries was what’s waiting alongside the PYO…
White Finch Bakery runs the gorgeous little coffee shop and artisan bakery on site, with a counter absolutely packed with homemade cakes, pastries, cookies, cinnamon buns, sausage rolls and plenty more.
There’s also a lovely outdoor seating area overlooking the fields, so once you’ve finished picking you can grab a coffee and something from the bakery and sit outside in the sunshine.
It has that slightly hidden away, countryside feel to it, despite being just outside Medway in Meopham, and made for a really nice morning out.
Strawberry picking. Sunflower picking. Coffee. Cake. And a wander around the farm.
Not a bad way to spend a summer Saturday. ☀️🍓🌻

To reach the coffee shop located at Broomfield Fruit Farm, visitors have two options - public transport or driving.
Public Transport:
From central London, take the Northern line (towards High Barnet) and get off at High Barnet station. From there, take bus number 107 towards New Barnet Station and get off at the Broomfield Lane stop. The fruit farm is just a short walk from there.
Driving/Parking:
From central London, take the A1 junction towards Barnet. Turn right onto B198/Barnet Road and continue straight until you reach Broomfield Lane. Turn left onto Broomfield Lane and continue straight until you see the entrance to the fruit farm on your left. Parking is available on site.
