My eldest son & Lucinda met on the school bus on their first day at secondary school and have remained friends ever since.
So it was a pleasure and honour to be asked to make her wedding cake (and my son was actually at primary school with Alex, her fiancé… now husband!!)
Traditional style buttercream cake, lemon & elderflower flavour.

Well, this one was one of the biggest honours and pleasures…. My son & daughter-in-law’s wedding cake.
They wanted something modern, yet classic; all white with just a hint of gold (which I incorporated into the flowers’ centres).
Flavour-wise, they went with my son’s favourite of chocolate & raspberry. There were also egg-free and gluten-free cakes available.
Some big thank yous - first to my dear friend Sharon of Sharon Lord Cakes, who as well as being a guest, delivered and set-up the cake for me (with the help of my other dear friend, Jackie of Cakes & Drapes who I espied helping her). They took time out of the reception to do this and I was SO grateful to have the stress lifted from my shoulders!
And thank you to Rafe Abrook for the photos from the day itself. (You can spot which are his and which is mine!

It’s the phone call that makes every cake maker’s blood run cold…
“Hello - it’s environmental health. We’re calling to arrange your routine inspection.”
We may not like these inspections, but at least YOU can rest assured that buying from a registered, inspected cake business with a 5* hygiene rating means that you’re in good hands in regards of health & safety, cleanliness and best practices.
And, yes, Pat-a-Cake Parties once again maintained its 5* rating! 🥰😇

Austin didn’t have a party last year, so this year’s party is for his 70+1 birthday!
His sister (who ordered the cake) told me he just LOVES a Victoria sponge, so a beautiful, but undecorated cake was perfect for him!!

I made Shanise’s wedding cake several years ago and it’s so lovely she came back to me for another important occasion - her mum’s 60th birthday. It was one of my more unusual requests - to combine the birthday girl’s love of her church with her love of shopping! Shanise provided the psalm to include. 🥰
Vanilla sponge with jam & buttercream and lemon sponge with lemon curd buttercream.
I hope everyone enjoyed the party!

2 dozen cupcakes to kick-off Ruby’s celebration weekend!!
A dozen vanilla cupcakes, with jam filling and topped with a vanilla buttercream swirl, and a dozen chocolate cupcakes, with chocolate ganache filling and chocolate buttercream swirls.
Mazeltov to Ruby and all her family!
