When it gets this hot, a shaded spot and something cold to drink is all you really need. We have hidden garden spaces at many our bakeries: tucked-away spots where you can slow down, have lunch, or just chill for a while.
We’ve got shaded tables at many of our bakeries, but here are some of our favourite spots: Ely, Godalming, Radlett, Marlow, Hitchin, St Margarets, Victoria Park, Summertown, Mill Hill, Clifton Road, and Clapham Old Town.
Lunch al fresco could be a lovely way to treat your dad too, if you’re celebrating Father’s Day this weekend.

On Wednesday, we welcomed friends to our home in Camden to celebrate our new Summer Menu.
A long colourful table took over our local square, where we served huge platters of summertime salads, bright cocktails and seasonal cakes and our artist in residence brought to life the table with her beautiful drawings.
People talked long into the evening, rekindling old connections and making new ones. It finally feels like summer is here. We can’t wait to see you at the next gathering.

A summer table, shared properly.
This week’s preview brought together friends of GAIL’s for an evening of live music, seasonal dishes and drawings by Emma Cantley. There’s something special about gathering outdoors in summer. Passing plates, pouring another glass, making room for one more person. The small rituals that turn food into connection.
Thank you for spending the evening with us.

We pour a lot of love and work into our previews. Behind the scenes and long before the evening, we’re cooking, prepping, flower arranging, table setting, drawing, drink filling and of course, weather checking.
Here’s a sneak peek at our process.

What people say
GAIL's Bakery on Longfield Avenue in London is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates good, honest food. The bakery prides itself on using only the best ingredients to create delicious treats that are never mundane or mediocre. One of their standout offerings is the San Francisco loaf, made with flour, yoghurt, milk and water. This unique combination of ingredients not only provides a distinctive tang and sourness but also fosters a good diversity of bacteria, improving gut health.
For those with a sweet tooth, GAIL's Bakery has plenty to offer as well. Their Saturday bun run features golden, flaky croissant pastry filled with cinnamon, brown sugar and butter before being tossed in cinnamon sugar. The Strawberry and Ricotta cakes are another popular choice - polenta and ricotta cake topped with sliced strawberries that are freshly baked throughout the day.
Savoury options at GAIL's Bakery are just as impressive. The Tomato and Artichoke Quiche is cased in buttery shortcrust pastry and filled with sundried tomatoes, artichokes, creamy ricotta, mature cheddar, rosemary and thyme. To add some spice to the dish, they season it with spicy Ezme Turkish paste made from sundried tomatoes, peppers and pomegranate molasses.
Finally, no visit to GAIL's Bakery would be complete without trying one of their smoked salmon or pastrami bagels. These come with a kick thanks to their friends at [unspecified]. And for those looking to improve their gut health while indulging in delicious food - GAIL's Bakery has got you covered too! Their fermentation specialist team transforms humble cucumbers into something truly special that will leave your taste buds wanting more. Overall, GAIL's Bakery is a fantastic spot for breakfast or brunch in London that offers something for everyone!
