Kick off the celebrations with Chef Dinner Series: Part Three: A Preview to Oktoberfest on Tuesday 15th September 🍽

Join Executive Head Chef Alex Thiel for a one-night-only four-course tasting menu inspired by the flavours of Bavaria, expertly paired with German and Austrian wines, plus a welcome glass of Sekt. Throughout the evening, Chef Alex will share the inspiration, traditions and seasonal ingredients behind each course, offering an exclusive taste of what's to come.

Then, from Friday 18th September, Oktoberfest returns to German Gymnasium with everything you love – giant steins, authentic Bavarian Spezialitäten and the return of our legendary Oompah Fridays. Expect live music every Friday, bierhall energy, long-table feasting and plenty of Prost! moments in the heart of King's Cross.

Our impressive grade II listed building was England's first purpose-built gymnasium.

It was constructed in 1865 by the German Gymnastics Society. It was home to London's first indoor Olympics in 1866.

We still have the original hooks in the ceiling that were used by the original gymnasts for rope climbing.

You can dine at the first floor restaurant, where spectators used to watch the athletes practising unusual sports like broadsword fighting and Indian club swinging
