Another of my favourites Tardatio Subtil Rose by Jordi Raventós , small winery at Penedes.
🍇 Malvasia Rose
Bottles per year: 700
Colour Raspberry, rose. On nose red berry notes, floral, fragrant herbs. On palate so elegant, smoth, light-bodied, spicy, good acidity. It is in its moment to drink.
I am so glad we wait a bit to open these bottles.

Wine of the week Juana de Hiriart from Cigales.
The Hiriart Winery, a family winery, is a recently created winery (it was created in 2007) but it has the great history of its founders that includes from its name, given by the surname of its great-grandmother of French origin, the tradition of winemaking and that, More than a century ago (circa 1870) they arrived in Cigales and settled on some underground cellars (from 1750) where their ancestors already made claret.
🍇 Tinta del país
Elaboration: The Tinta del País is selected from their oldest vineyards. The Tinta del País from their vineyards is characterized by its fruity potential and its ideal suitability for aging with an excellent polyphenolic concentration.
The malolactic fermentation is done on barrels, with a subsequent oxidative aging for 14 months that ends in the bottle room for more than 12 months.
On the nose complex, elegant and rich in shades.
On palate is surprising silkiness for such a powerful and structured wine. A wine to enjoy and remember.

Finca El Ma***to, a wine from Ahillas, . Awarded by a couple of years ago as one of the best wines from .
Only when "the terroir" and the vintage allow it, and making a great selection of some specific plots, does the wine "Finca El Ma***to" emerge.
This wine is a simple tribute to the man who cared for and cultivated the plots where the winery and its fields are located today. A tough man, like Rafael "El Ma***to", who lived for 104 years in Ahillas. The total population of is 12 people. A quiete & romantic place where silence surround you.
🍇 Bobal & small % of Tempranillo, Prieto Picudo & amen is.
Elaboration: Manual Harvest, aged 14 months in new French oak barrels & bottled at least another 2 years before reaching market.
On the nose. We have notes of ripe cherries, blackberries and mineral mitt. As evolved in the glass we have also toasted notes. On the palate very pleasant tannins, long with notes of ripe strawberries, blackberry & liquorice.
On the last pic you can see Juanjo on way to winery 😉
Come & enjoy it!!

What a fantastic first night in food & wine . Their knowledge on the wines was impressive & the service was great.
The wines by the glass were amazing & I love particularly the Coma Blanca 2017 from Priorat & the Clos de L’Obac 2008 from a blend of several grapes that reminds me a lot wines.
