It means the time spent at the table after the food is finished – talking, laughing, ordering one more round you didn’t need. In Mexico, it’s not an accident. It’s the point.

Tomorrow marks Día del Taco, a celebration that began in Mexico to honour Tacos. The taco’s origins trace back to the silver mines of 18th century Mexico, where “tacos” referred to the paper-wrapped gunpowder used in excavation.
Miners adopted the term for their own paper-wrapped meals. From those beginnings to the global food it is today, the taco represents Mexican ingenuity, community, and flavour. Tomorrow, we celebrate that legacy across all Santo Remedio sites, with £3 per Taco. 🇲🇽
