🍻 Tonight, we raise a glass to Max. 🍻
For the past 11 years, Max has been a dedicated servant to the cause, keeping the good people of Deptford refreshed, entertained, and well supplied with pints at The Dog and Bell.
His hard work, friendship, banter, and unwavering presence behind the bar have made him a much-loved part of our community. While we’re sad to see him move on, we’re incredibly grateful for everything he’s done and the memories he’s helped create along the way.
From all of us thank you
Much love ###

Following Eileen’s passing in late 2025 and her funeral in early 2026, this gathering at her beloved pub brings family, friends, neighbours, and the Deptford community together to celebrate her life.
Led by Father Grant, the service will include musical tributes and a reflection on her peaceful passing, now reunited with her beloved Charlie.
All are warmly invited to stay afterwards for a traditional Irish music session, with food and refreshments provided.

It is with great sadness, but also with a sense of comfort knowing she is now at peace, that we announce the passing of Eileen Gallagher.
Eileen, The beloved landlady and the founding mother of The Dog and Bell, dedicated many years to creating a warm and welcoming environment for all who walked through its doors.
Her legacy is deeply woven into the fabric of our community, and her spirit will forever remain a part of The Dog and Bell. For those who had the privilege of knowing her, Eileen’s kindness, hospitality, and steadfast dedication will never be forgotten.
Eileen is now reunited with her dear Charlie. Our thoughts are with her family and all those whose lives she touched.
Further details regarding arrangements will be shared in due course.

What people say
Dog & Bell SE8, located on Prince Street in London, is a must-visit for anyone looking for a great pub or beer bar experience. This establishment has recently been awarded 1st place by South East London Camra, which is a testament to the quality of their offerings. The staff and customers are amazing, and they are committed to providing the best possible experience for everyone who walks through their doors. They recently hosted a Mini Mild Ale Fest that was a huge success, and we can't wait to see what other events they have planned in the future. If you're in Deptford and looking for a great place to grab a pint (or two), Dog & Bell SE8 should be at the top of your list!
