The owner, who has over 17 years of culinary experience and has worked in notable restaurants such as Joel Robuchon and The Square, has embarked on a new journey to create his own identity as a chef. It’s been a few weeks since we closed our doors at Crate St James Street.

There are no words to describe how humbling this experience has been- painful, sad, exhausting.. yes but humbling also.

We feel so proud to have been part of this community. Thank you for letting us share your everyday and special moments. From first news of pregnancies unsure what to eat and fighting the nausea, to welcoming those babies in their first trips out, birthday brownies, Christmas cheese celebrations and Sunday morning cinnamon bun dates. Work from home lunches and family visiting. We’ve loved being a part of it.

Our mission has always been spreading joy through food, making someone’s day a little brighter. I think we achieved that.

This picture of our team was taken at the end of our last day, queues out the door for hours. Thank you to everyone who came down. And an extra special thank you to our team who worked so hard , all with a giggle and a smile. We are so lucky to have gotten the chance to work with you all ( past and present our team has been unbelievable ❤️ and feel like family) Thank you Freya, Clem, Max, Tilly, Lois, Nick, DeCarno, Amber, Tanya, Eve, Alannah, Elis, Zeki and there’s more - you made Gather a joy. Thank you.

And whilst this isn’t good bye , we are taking some time to look at our situation, opportunities and future. We wish you happy eating until then !

It is with a very heavy heart that we have come to the decision to leave our premises at Crate. Our last day will be this Saturday , 21st June. Please do come down and see us for a last brownie, slice of quiche or brunch.

Come and help us clear our shelves with beautiful gifts and tasty cupboard essentials .

BUBBA’S WHO LUNCH- LAST MINUTE DATE RELEASED!

We had lots of you disappointed that our event today was sold out soooooo we have decided to run another next week 🥰

Great for babies and their adults ( whether that be mums, dads, grandparents. Caters or anyone else in between!)

For £20 ticket you shall receive lunch, snacks and a hot or cold drink. There’s lots of local people having a chat with a space for bubbas to play!

And a glorious showcase of seasonal produce and products from independent artisanal makers. A perfect example is the ketchup. These guys grow exceptional tomatoes and show case them in their brilliant range of products! Have a dollop of ketchup on your brunch or pop into the shop to buy some for home 🍅

P.S there is also a smoked jersey royal cream that balances all the fresh flavours in this dish!
