It was with great pleasure that Makan Cafe was chosen by YBHG Dato’ Haji Rizalman Ibrahim to host his grand Open House in London on 18th May 2022.

We were honoured by Dato’s prestigious guest her Royal Majesty KDYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

Thank you Dato’ for bringing our community together on this joyous occasion and allowing the people to feel the spirit, food and culture of Hari Raya where it is much missed when living abroad.

Guess who’s back? After 3 years of serving at Malaysia Hall Canteen, our lovely Ani (also known as ‘Mama Makan’) will be joining the family business back in Portobello Road.

For those who have been coming to Malaysia Hall and have enjoyed Ani’s food, her warm smile and her kind words then look no further and pop by to Makan Cafe. If you have never been then we recommend to come on a weekend where you will also get to experience the wonderful Portobello Market and all that it has to offer.

Nasi Lemak

Fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf served with chicken rendang, sambal sauce, eggs, peanuts, anchovies and slices of cucumber.
One of our breakfasts dishes (yes this is what Malaysians eat for breakfast!) served all day. Come by and give it a try.
