Following the recent announcement, we've decided that it's sensible to close our doors at half seven tonight.
We can't thank you enough for all your support recently. Stay safe, keep an eye on those less fortunate than you, and we'll see you all on the other side!
Ash and the team.
EDIT: To those of you who have been phoning to ask if you can stay in if you're in by half past, I did of course mean that I'm closing up then!

Good morning, everyone! We hope that you're all well in these testing times.
We're going to be open, business as almost usual until we're (officially) told to close.
We'll open from 12-2 and then from 5-11 today, and I'm going to get a quiz written. It might be the last one for a little while so do please come down if you'd like. I'll spread the tables around a bit to maintain some distance, which will unfortunately mean that you won't be able to overhear or copy from your neighbouring table this time.

We're going to be making the most of this unfortunate quiet time to get some rewiring work done tomorrow, and so will be closed on Monday the 16th so that we can have the power off.
We'll be back open on Tuesday at midday and then of course will have the quiz on as usual from 8pm!
We hope you're all keeping well, and thanks as ever for your continued support.

Hello, everyone. We're obviously keeping a close eye on advice from the powers that be but are for now running absolutely business as usual.
We've looked into going cashless for a period, but decided not to as all research that we've found has shown a minimal risk of transmission. Rest assured that our wonderful cleaner and staff will all be doing their utmost as ever to keep everything sparkling clean. See you at the bar!

We normally don't let our customers sleep in the pub but, seeing as this one hasn't bought anything yet, I think we can make an exception!

Our pub quiz tonight is as ever from 8pm.
We've got prizes for the top three teams, a cash rollover that you can win wherever you come in the quiz, and also the interval raffle that somehow every team seems to keep winning. Don't ask me how, I'm just a humble pub manager!

We're hiring! We're looking for a new part-time member of bar and waiting staff. 15-20 hours per week which will largely be evening and weekend shifts.
You'll get weekly pay, tips, the total flexibility to fit the job around your other commitments and a friendly and supportive workplace. Experience is great but enthusiasm is more important. It is quite a physical job as our kitchen is up a flight of stairs. CVs with a brief covering email detailing your availability, potential start date and why you'd like to work here to [email protected] please.

It's almost time for the first quiz of the new year! We're back to the usual format rather than doing a review of the year because, well, that's so last decade now.
You can still catch happy hour if you make it in before seven as well - prosecco for £15, any G&T for £7.50 doubles, Sierra Nevada for £4.50, and Loaded Fries for £4.50.

We've launched a few budget-conscious specials for January, available from 12-3pm Monday to Friday.

A few of our low and no-alcohol drinks for those of you still persevering with Dry January. Clwb Tropicana 0.5% coming soon as well!

We're going quite low-key for New Year's Eve this year for those of you who want to go out but maybe don't want to be deafened by whatever DJ was free to be booked by your local!
We'll be open until 2am (last entry is 11:30pm), there's no entrance fee and we'll have bottles of prosecco for £15 from 6-10pm.
