Last night we had a little farewell do for Bobby Bobby de Courcy
He’s been treading the boards at The Canton Arms for a long time now, and while we’d happily keep him forever, it’s time for a new challenge.

We’re going to miss his infectious, cheeky personality around the pub, but there is one small silver lining… we’re hoping profits might be slightly up now we don’t have to feed him four meals a day!

Good luck, Bobby. We’ll miss you, and we have no doubt we’ll be seeing you on the other side of the bar very soon.

P.S. When you’re treading the boards for real, and that Oscar comes along, don’t forget where all that character building began. xx

The Summer continues,
Lovely stuff from the kitchen:
Beautiful Swaledale Butchers® mutton chops, roast red peppers and white beans.
having a good clean of the shelves.
Slow cooked lamb shank and peas, plus spiced slow cooked short rib and slaw. Chilled Beaujolais a good accompaniment.
Wild sea bass, mussels, leeks and c***r
Roast chopped rabbit, smoked bacon, gnocchi and peas.

To reach the pub and gastropub located at South Lambeth Road in London, you can take public transport by using the nearest underground station which is Stockwell Station. From there take Bus No. 88 towards Clapham Common and get off at Durham Street Stop. Alternatively, you can also use the overground train and stop at Vauxhall train station, then take Bus No. 2 towards Norwood Junction or Bus No. 88 towards Clapham Common and get off at the Durham Street Stop.

If you are driving, follow A203 from Vauxhall Bridge Road, turn right onto South Lambeth road and continue straight until you reach your destination. The area has limited street parking available, so it is recommended to park in nearby pay-and-display car parks or use public transportation to avoid parking hassles.

Canton Arms, located on South Lambeth Road, is a must-visit gastropub in Stockwell. The pub offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The food is simply amazing, with dishes like the Sea-bream Crudo with elderflower vinaigrette, grapes and almonds, and the House-made ‘Sai Oua’ mutton sausages with Thai cucumber and chilli being some of the highlights.
