In May 1926, 2 million workers joined the General Strike, in a massive display of solidarity with miners locked out by mine-owners for refusing to accept wage cuts.
Nine days later, afraid of losing control of the situation, the TUC General Council called the Strike off.
"Nine Days in May" recounts the events of the General Strike in the Metropolitan Boroughs of Bermondsey, Camberwell and Southwark (now united into the London Borough of Southwark)
