"I ate at Gigs while staying in London for work. My workmates and I had a great meal. My friends went for fish and chips, I went for one of the chicken kababs. The food was very good and tasty, and was reasonably priced. The staff were very good, polite and helpful. I would eat here again if I get the opportunity."

"Visiting from Cambridge and stumbled across Gigs restaurant, where we were greeted with a smile. I had souvlaki and my friend had fish and chips. Both were delicious, and the service was faultless. A very pleasant afternoon on a sunny March day!"

"Unplanned visit as my French colleague just fancied some fish & chips as he usually does when in the UK - but what a great find. The food was superb - his fish & chips & my grilled tuna - and the service was great : prompt & personal & with our waitress also conversing with my colleague in French which was really appreciated - thanks Daniella, a huge asset for & credit to the restaurant."

"I popped in here randomly and I was very pleasantly surprised by the welcome, the food and the speed at which I was served. The friendly owner spoke with all the diners to make sure all was as expected, and indeed it was. I will go back the next time I'm in London."

What people say

British restaurants are known for their traditional and hearty dishes that have been enjoyed for generations. Gigs, located in Tottenham Street, London, is a prime example of a British restaurant that has stood the test of time. Established in 1958 by a Cypriot emigre called Gyriaokos, Gigs has been serving traditional British fish n' chips for over 60 years.

What sets Gigs apart from other fish and chips shops is its unique blend of traditional Greek Cypriot cuisine with British classics. This fusion of flavors creates a truly unique dining experience that cannot be found anywhere else. The original menu has been kept intact with just a few tweaks to cater to modern tastes.

The premises have also undergone renovations to bring them into the 21st century while still maintaining the classic charm that customers have come to love. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make Gigs a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family.

Overall, Gigs is an excellent choice for anyone looking for authentic British cuisine with a twist. With its rich history and delicious food, it's no wonder why this restaurant has remained popular for over six decades.
