🌎We were incredibly honoured to welcome the amazing Karl Bushby and his friend Angela Maxwell for two very special nights during Karl’s epic journey home to Hull. The ex-soldier has marched 36,000 miles since he left his Mum’s home in 1998 on his extraordinary expedition around the world, breaking records and pushing the limits of human endurance. After such an incredible adventure their stay with us was a rare and much-needed chance to rest, recharge and enjoy a little home comfort before setting off on the walk back to Hull🚶♂️Karl told us he chose to stay upstairs at the pub because of our proximity to the Greenwich Meridian — such an important landmark in the history of world exploration. Karl told us how much he loved the pub, how amazing all our staff were and how well cared for they both felt during their stay and that it was the perfect place for so many friends come along to visit them, share stories and show their support. From all of us at The Pelton Arms thank you Karl and Angela for spending time with us. It was an absolute pleasure to look after you both even if only for a couple of nights and we were so happy to be part of this moment on your journey. Good luck with the final leg back to Hull! We wish you both safe travels, strong legs and plenty more kindness along the way. You’ll always be welcome back and that pint will be waiting for you Karl! 🍻

BREAKING NEWS: PENNY IS ALIVE! 🐈⬛😂 We may have jumped the gun on that little farewell post! 🙈 Turns out we mistook another cat for our beloved Penny, and our girl is still very much with us! Penny, we apologise for sending you off to the great pub in the sky before your time. Your seat at the bar is still reserved and the treats are on us! 🍻🥛
In all seriousness, our condolences go to the family of the cat who sadly passed away. Welcome back, Penny! Not that you ever left 🐾

To get to Pelton Road using public transportation, you can take the DLR to Cutty Sark station or Greenwich station. From there, it's a 15-20 minute walk to Pelton Road.
If you're driving, you can park at the nearby Greenwich Shopping Park car park and walk for about 5 minutes to reach Pelton Road. Alternatively, if you don't mind paying for parking, there are a few pay and display spots along Pelton Road itself.
