One thing we kept getting asked for on Saturday, besides ribs, was T-shirts! We didn’t expect people would like them so much! George’s grandson; Nick is an artist and designed these for us, so we’ve just released them online through his website which is linked below 🙌 They’re available in black and white so now you can represent even though the shop has closed! What can be said about yesterday?! If you tried to explain to someone from outside W10, how this little fish and chip shop could have impacted so many lives and warranted such an amazing send off - you just couldn’t! We are BLOWN AWAY by the love and support of the community. You are what made this shop so great and we are so thankful and honoured to have been able to serve you for so long ❤️🙌

This Saturday, 20th July - we’ll be serving fish and chips for a final time and closing our doors for good
It’s been an incredible journey since George started back in 1961. Serving fresh food over the decades became his passion and turning a humble fish and chip shop into a cornerstone of the community was something only someone like George could do. He was truly one in a million 🙌
Please pop along this week if you’d like to come and say goodbye to the staff or if you’d like to buy a final portion of food. We’ll be open on Saturday until the food runs out and from 4-10pm there will be a street party with live music, organised by the wonderful people and 🙌

We hope eveyone had a lovely weekend. With our closing date fast approaching, we're reaching out to all our customers to see if you have any photographs of George's. We are looking for photos to display in the shop as a type of memory board leading up to closing so everyone coming into the shop can see George's throughout the years including all of our wonderful customers! If you're happy for us to print and display your photos, simply post them in the comments below and we'll take care of the rest! We can't wait to see them!

The End of an Era 🙌
After a proud 63 years of serving food to our community, it’s time to close our doors for a final time on Saturday July 20th. George’s has been a cornerstone of the area since 1961, and it’s been a long and wonderful time building relationships with the generations that have walked up to our counter.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your custom, support and friendship over the decades.
We look forward to seeing you all and thanking you in person before we close.

If you are using public transport, take the tube to Ladbroke Grove station (Hammersmith & City or Circle line) and then walk for about 5-10 minutes to reach Portobello Road. Alternatively, you can take a bus which stops at various points along Portobello Road.
