I know I’ve been quiet on here lately! Work has been hectic, and it leaves little time for social media, also 13 years of folding macaron batter has taken its toll on my shoulders, so I’ve had to take it easy for a while!

But here’s a cake for a friend who just turned 40 🌷

I recently went to see a Picasso exhibition at the Tate and there was a blurb that was attributed to him that said : "It takes a long time to become young." , having just turned 40 myself, I relate! So happy birthday , here’s to taking our time 🥂🥰

I hope to post a bit more from here on!

Introducing this ❤️limited-edition❤️ Valentine’s Day box set, “Chérie” , inspired by the way love has been expressed and evolved across countries & cultures, over time.

In Persia, the rose has long symbolised love and beauty, woven into poetry, rituals, and everyday life. In Spain, the pomegranate has represented fertility and abundance for centuries, its deep sweetness celebrated in art and tradition. Chocolate, first revered by the Aztecs, was once believed to awaken desire and vitality, long before it became a modern symbol of indulgence.

Vanilla, derived from the rare vanilla orchid, was an extraordinary discovery in its time, valued for its warmth, aroma, and reputation as an aphrodisiac. Finally, strawberries, the fruit of the Renaissance, became closely associated with sensuality and romance across Europe, prized for their vibrant colour & sweetness.

These flavours come from different places and histories, but in modern times they meet, mingle, and feel naturally at home together. Much like the way we celebrate love today.

"Science is about knowing; engineering is about doing and art is about feeling. Great things happen when all three meet.”
-Theodore von Kármán

This one challenged me in all the best ways. From the start, I knew it would be a wild journey and, that’s precisely what made me say yes.

It took a lot of planning and sketches but with help from my dad (the quiet hero behind the scenes) we built a solid base for her. There’s something magical about when baking, art, sculpture and engineering collide to create something beautiful….

Everything on this cake is edible. No styrofoam, no dummies, just cake, wafer paper flowers and a few eucalyptus leaves.

The tiers consisted of:Raspberry & roasted pistachioBlack Forest gâteau with homemade cherry jamCoffee mascarpone with toasted walnuts

It takes a team to pull off a cake like this: from my wonderful couple Hazal & James who gave me full creative freedom and trusted my weird ideas and put their faith in me, to my dad whose engineering knowledge helped me make it happen.

Wishing Hazal and James the most beautiful life together, full of love, laughter, and all the sweet things life has to offer, be it memories or bars of chocolate 🍫

It was a pleasure to go on this journey with you 💜🤍

Would you rather: steal the last macaron or the last mini egg?

Well… now you don’t have to choose.
Mini egg macarons exist, and they’re doing what needs to be done.

Wishing you all a very happy from me (and the macarons) hope you’re spending it exactly how you like it, preferably with something sweet you’re not planning to share.
I’ll be doing the same (obviously).

Lots of love! Elika x
