Last week I had the privilege of visiting our coffee producers in Minas Gerais, Brazil, with our long-term partners DRWakefield and SMC - Specialty Coffees. After 11 years building Old Spike, this trip was long overdue!

Like many businesses, it’s easy to get caught up in day-to-day operations here in the UK. Visiting these farms is a great reminder of the work being done at origin and the importance of working with the right partners, not just on home soil but at origin too.

Coffee sourced through SMC - Specialty Coffees is a key component of our house blend, so it was brilliant to see the range of farms behind it - from larger operations like Fazenda Aracaçu and Fazenda Palmital to family-run farms like Sítio Três Barras. SM’s support is a big part of why that works; from agronomy advice to market access and community programmes, their job is making sure the people growing the coffee see the value it creates

Everything we do at Old Spike depends on what happens on those farms. A huge thank you to DR Wakefield, SMC and every producer who welcomed us so generously. - Richard Robinson

Take the Overground to Peckham Rye Station. Upon exiting the station, head north on Rye Lane until you come to a set of traffic lights. Turn left and continue for about five minutes until you come to a large intersection. The coffee shop is located on the corner.

Option 2 - Driving/Parking:
Drive towards Peckham Rye and take the exit at the roundabout onto Rye Lane. Continue south on Rye Lane until you reach a large intersection with traffic lights. The coffee shop is located on the corner. Limited parking is available on surrounding streets, but it is recommended to use public transport as parking can be difficult in this area.
