The Earl Of Essex

The Earl Of Essex The Earl Of Essex, located on Danbury Street, was a pub and beer bar that boasted 20 draft lines, 33 bottles of beer and even housed their own brewery within the premises. The menu had been carefully crafted to complement their array of beers and included spirits and wine. Unfortunately, it seems that they have not updated their profile for over five years and may now be closed down.

With our beer of the day, the tart and spritzy Siren Craft Brew Calypso Enigma Citra Berliner Weisse at 4.0%, we suggest the ultimate food pairing: A gorgeous cheese board.

We currently have four bombastic cheeses worthy of a Michelin starred plate:

Coeur de Berger - A soft goats cheese with lots of herbs.
Cantal - The original beer pairing cheese.
Fourme d'Ambert - Sweet blue taste.
Coulommiers - Everything a good brie wants to be with the added funk reminiscent of an aged ale.

Served with homemade chilli jam & pickles.
