The Earl Of Essex, located on Danbury Street, was a pub and beer bar that boasted 20 draft lines, 33 bottles of beer and even housed their own brewery within the premises. The menu had been carefully crafted to complement their array of beers and included spirits and wine. Unfortunately, it seems that they have not updated their profile for over five years and may now be closed down.
