…In the depths of lockdowns we took on more space and relaunched as an all-day restaurant. With the talented and creative Aussie Darren Leadbeater as head chef and Michelle Bove as GM, we relaunched out of Covid with a bang. Big wine nights, big live music nights with tables spilling onto the street. The restaurant was buzzing morning to late, and while we were young as a concept, we had a talented team at the helm and young people eager to learn. Special mentions to Rabaka, Mara, Guilia, Aliyah, Jawi, Courtney, Ilias & Andi.

These early years were always exciting, always trying new things, always challenging in a good way, and always learning. That hard work created the opportunity to launch my dream restaurant that is now Milk Beach in Soho.

While the Soho restaurant has taken more of the lime light in recent years, Queen’s Park has been quietly and consistently delivering our signature Aussie hospitality to our wonderful community. Head Chef Lenny has brought some truly memorable dishes and flavours to the pass. Special mentions to Chandler, Anthony, Mara, Keri, Fernando, Andrea, Sneah, Antonio, Jeriel and Trev.

A restaurant can never be copied because in a large way it is defined by its people and its guests. Together we created a special piece of history on Lonsdale Road. Thank you to everyone for the memories.

The street has transformed since 2018. Queen’s Park has evolved. It’s time to give this location its own identity again. It’s always been my dream to have multiple concepts under one roof and so this is the start of that journey. 8 years on. A new brand. A new concept. I can’t wait for you all to be a part of it.

3 weeks left. Hope to see as many of you as possible.

Some BIG NEWS for our Milk Beach Community.

This summer I’ll be opening a BRAND NEW concept at our Queen’s Park location… that means the last day of trading as Milk Beach Queen’s Park will be SUNDAY 22nd MARCH 2026 before we close for a full renovation.

I opened the original little Milk Beach as a cafe & wine bar on Lonsdale Road in 2018. I look back and laugh at how little I knew, but we got one thing right from the beginning - people. Matt, Tom, Liam, Liv, Bass, Adele, Abbie, Max, Sarah, Mara D, Ben. Kind people who were passionate about product and quality and sharing what they knew with guests. We brought something new to the London cafe scene at the time. We brought orange wines to West London for the first time (forever grateful Roman Pawar). In our tiny 600 sq ft site down a quiet muse in Queen’s Park, we made a mark.

Covid was a wild time - so unfamiliar that the memories and feelings remain strong. Mates of mine so generously volunteering their time to help me sell coffee and wine. Thank you brother and also Lena, Jess, Pembers, Coops. Amelie inside making 800 coffees a day. And then our outdoor barbecues with people sitting on milk crates drinking wine on the street. Regulars bringing their own furniture because we’d run out. Our connection with the community grew so much deeper during this time, a connection that lasts to this day.

The story continues in next post…

Soft light, good wine, plates built for sharing.

Milk Beach has always been about creating space - to slow down, settle in, and let the evening take its time. We love seeing those moments captured.

Thanks for sharing, .

One night only special at Soho next Saturday. Wine glasses pushed aside, conversations closer. Time to share this chocolate terrine with rum cherries, hazelnut brittle and chantilly.

Monkfish & mussels yellow curry with peanuts, choi sum, holy basil and jasmine rice 🌿

With fantastic authentic local Thai restaurants in every neighbourhood in Sydney, Thai flavours and ingredients have a big influence on the cuisine back home. We marinate our monkfish in a yellow curry spice mix before grilling on the Robata grill, served with mussels cooked in the curry sauce.
