We made the food for the evening and were so happy to see people enjoying the food that takes them back to places and people that they can no longer access....
Cuisines of Odesa is different from many other cookbooks. Maria is very clear - the book not about her but about the Odesans. She is the force of nature behind the project, a mission to tell the world about her city.
The book is not about the war, but about life and a very unique sense of Odesan vitality.

Lacy pancakes filled with mushrooms, egg and a rich Bechamel sauce with chives will be on our Easter sale on Saturday 4 May. 3 pcs £7.50.
The recipe for the blinchiki - crepes - is by our lovely sous chef Valentina, who makes the batter using freshly boiled hot water, which makes the pancakes so ‘lacy’ - with little holes.

🐣The Orthodox Easter often takes place on a different day from the Catholic one, this year it’s over a month later! This is a very special holiday for many of us growing up in Eastern Europe. Whether you’re religious or not, the symbols and rituals of re-birth and re-renewal from pre-Christianity times tend to pull at our hearts’ strings ❤️
