To round out our birthday month celebrations we’ve unlocked some photos from deep in the archives of Sarah White. If you’ve visited either restaurant in the last 15 years it is highly likely you have met Sarah. A true gem in the Elliot’s universe, she has been in the team since before the restaurant opened, having worked with Brett on earlier projects. One of the most fun and friendly people you’ll meet, she’s always down for a laugh and really embodies the spirit of Elliot’s. In addition she is also a wonderful photographer whose lens we love to see the world through. Over the years she’s captured many key moments so when she recently sent the archive that goes all the way back to 2011, we were in equal measure laughing and crying. Soooooo hard to edit this down to just 20, but cheers to Sarah, to our 15 plus years together and everyone who has been on this ride with us!!!!

We planned to have this on as a special for a couple of weeks, but have been loving having it back so it’s here till the end of the month. It’s our bday and we’ll dine as we want to! As we’re dipping into the menu archive it would have been rude not to bring back our infamous cheeseburger. The timing feels right with the current burger renaissance sweeping London.
As burger lore goes, our version arrived on the scene during the big London burger boom of the 2010s, as documented throughly by Daniel Young.
These burgers were defined by thick, coarse minced and lightly pressed patties aiming to replicate the texture and taste of a premium dry aged steak and served medium rare.
We stack ours with dry aged Yorkshire beef from Swaledale Butchers®, olive oil brioche bun, Comté, Ogleshield, beef fat braised onions, fresh dill pickles, homemade ketchup and mustard mayo.
As it was our lunchtime only menu item, we continue that legacy as it takes over Friday Frites for all of August. Each Friday of the month you can enjoy our beloved burger plus frites for £15. Originally it was £12.50, so with inflation this feels like a bargain?!
It will be available at both Borough and Hackney from 12pm, but there will only be 15 each Friday, so catch them while you can.

The birthday celebrations continue with a special wine focus on our friends Gut Oggau! Based in Burgenland, Austria, Stephanie and Eduard produce a family of wines, each with distinct personalities that reflect the location of the vineyards.
We were first introduced by the one and only Isabelle Legeron and have been lucky to work with them throughout our 15 years, experiencing first hand their biodynamic farming and generous hospitality. These are wines full of energy, that call you from the shelf and have been a constant on our list and in our lives. They have been present at so many important life occasions - new openings, birthdays, weddings, births…any and all parties!
We are excited to release these vintages from our cellar to share with you now. Due to their rare nature these wines can only be enjoyed at Borough and are not available for takeaway.

From tomorrow for the next two weeks we are going into the recipe archive and pulling out some of the most loved and missed dishes from the past 15 years. We’re starting with a couple of recent ones that we get asked about a lot. Firstly our tiramisu, which is gluten free and needs no introduction. And secondly the potato flatbread with trout roe and crème fraiche - declared as “genuinely a perfect dish” by George Reynolds. They’ll be back on the menu for a couple of days in limited portions at Borough only!

August is a massive bday month for us as we mark 15 years of being in Borough Market!!! In honour of such an occasion we’re throwing a Birthday Seafood BBQ on Sunday 9th August and you are all invited!
The one day menu features cooking in the wood oven and on the charcoal grill with extra special dishes from our market pals Nicholas Fitzgerald from Tacos Padre, Phil from JUMA Kitchen and the team at Rambutan.
What we love most about being in such a thriving and vibrant neighbourhood is being able to return to eat at the places we adore time after time and the many incredible people we’ve connected with over the years. And this event celebrates exactly that - a real coming together.
Reservations are available online, but we’ll also keep walk-in space along the bar if you want to pop by for a cheers!
If you can’t make it, we also have some additional birthday surprises for you over the next two weeks so watch this space…

What people say
Elliot's is a modern European restaurant located on Stoney Street that offers an exceptional dining experience. The restaurant has a British touch to its menu, which is evident in the dishes they serve. Elliot's is known for its seasonal and locally sourced ingredients that are used to create mouth-watering dishes.
One of the things that make Modern European restaurants stand out is their ability to combine different culinary traditions and techniques to create unique and delicious dishes. Elliot's does this perfectly with their wood-roasted chicken fricassee, which was served during a special lunch with winemakers Julie & Toby Bainbridge. The dish was inspired by Anjou cuisine and paired perfectly with the new season wines poured by Toby.
Elliot's also prides itself on using fresh ingredients in their dishes, as seen in their mackerel crudo with verjus, fennel pollen & biber chilli. The dish was first introduced at some recent events before making it onto the menu at Hackney.
Another standout dish at Elliot's is the asparagus, marsala and wild garlic zabaglione with Mangalitza lardo. This dish showcases the chef's creativity and skill in combining different flavors to create a unique taste.
Overall, Elliot's is a must-visit for anyone looking for a modern European restaurant that offers exceptional food made from locally sourced ingredients. With its cozy ambiance and friendly staff, it provides an unforgettable dining experience that will leave you wanting more.
