The Nero New Writers Prize is back.
Designed to discover and support the next generation of writing talent, the prize is open to aspiring, unpublished writers across the UK and Ireland.
The winner will receive £3,000, a fully funded MA in Creative Writing at Brunel University of London, and an introduction to a literary agent.
Entries must be an original, unpublished short story of up to 5,000 words, in fiction or narrative non-fiction.
Entries close 11 September 2026.

If you are traveling to Unit Ru3009 in Terminal 3 of London Heathrow Airport, there are several options for transportation. If using public transport, take the Piccadilly line on the London Underground to Heathrow Terminal 3 station. From there, follow signs for the pedestrian walkway towards the airport terminals and continue walking until you reach Unit Ru3009.
Alternatively, if driving, take the M4 motorway and exit at Junction 4 towards Heathrow. Continue on the A408 for approximately 2 miles until you reach Terminal 3. There are several parking options available at the airport, including short-term and long-term parking facilities.
Once you have arrived at Unit Ru3009, you can enjoy a warm beverage or snack from the coffee shop located inside.
