We’re celebrating the start of Native Lobster Season with one of the classic dishes that has graced the menu and specials board Randall & Aubin for 30 years.

Last month, Chef Ed and the R&A team travelled to the South Coast to spend time with the suppliers and fishermen behind some of the finest shellfish in Britain. Native lobster, caught in the cold waters off Southern England, is prized for its naturally sweet flavour, firm texture and exceptional quality.

Back in Soho, Chef Ed roasts and grills the lobster with garlic butter before finishing it with fresh parsley and lemon ~ a simple approach that allows the produce to speak for itself.

Served with green salad or crispy fries, it remains one of our longest-standing and best-loved dishes. A true Randall & Aubin classic that has been on the menu since day one.

A proper day by the sea 🌊

The team headed out to meet the local fishermen who’ve been supplying our Soho kitchen with exceptional seafood for over 30 years — a real full-circle moment and a reminder of where it all begins.

We followed it up with an unforgettable lunch at .restaurant — an award-winning seafood restaurant in Dartmouth, founded by chef and restaurateur Mitch Tonks and Chef Patron . It’s renowned for its beautifully fresh, locally landed seafood and Italian-influenced cooking, and it certainly delivered: expertly mixed cocktails, stunning day boat fish, and an utterly indulgent pannacotta to finish.

Highly recommend… for the food, the people, and the story behind it all.

Stay tuned for a special chefs’ collaboration to celebrate 30 years of 👀
