Firmdale Hotels Firmdale Hotels is a collection of 10 hotels and 2 private residences located in London, New York, and Barbados. Founded in 1985 by husband and wife team Tim and Kit Kemp, the hotels are known for their meticulously designed interiors that combine playful and bright elements with bespoke detailing. In addition to the hotels, Firmdale also offers restaurants, bars, spas, an online store, and an interior design firm. The collection includes iconic properties such as Dorset Square Hotel, Covent Garden Hotel, Charlotte Street Hotel, Knightsbridge Hotel, The Soho Hotel, Haymarket Hotel, Ham Yard Hotel, Crosby Street Hotel (the first New York opening), and The Whitby Hotel (opened in 2017). Overall, Firmdale Hotels provides a fresh modern approach to traditional English style through its unique designs created by British Interior Designer Kit Kemp.

Last night, The Orangery at Number Sixteen Hotel was filled with conversation, creativity, and a shared appreciation for the beauty of flowers as we welcomed author and garden designer Sean Anthony Pritchard to celebrate the launch of his latest book, Atmosfloric. What a gloriously flower-filled week it’s been as London fully embraced bloom season. From a special preview of ’s limited-edition floral afternoon tea in our leafy private garden, to another spectacular year at Chelsea Flower Show and the wonderfully “out of this world” neighbourhood displays by Chelsea in Bloom - the celebrations have been in full flourish.

And the good news? We’re not done just yet. Our Chelsea Flower Show afternoon tea will be served through May 28th, while garden designer .anthony.pritchard’s charming English garden planters outside the hotel are here to stay. The Croc is one of our favourite events spaces, complete with vintage shoes and back lit bowling balls, a lounge, dance floor and bar. Afternoon Cheese at has officially arrived and we could not be more excited about this savoury spin on a storied tradition.

In a delicious collaboration with our neighbours at - purveyors of Britain’s most coveted cheeses - our chefs have created éclairs with pickled walnuts and chives, Ragstone and caramelised onion macarons, ’s Baron Bigod on malt and prune loaf, Lincolnshire tarts and Cheddar Welsh rarebit doughnuts.

You’ll also find scones with goat’s curd, caramelised onion jam and chive oil as well as Ricotta cheesecake with poached rhubarb. It’s a celebration of Covent Garden camaraderie, paired perfectly with a glass (or two) of Kent’s finest wines from .
