So far behind with posting...I still have Christmas cakes to post but with this beautiful sunshine, that just feels wrong!!
Might have something to do with my final few months as a student. Wish I could say I had gone full student mode with union nights out and sleeping in late but my finals are battering me...
Can't wait for exams to be over... Just ten days... That's all... I CAN DO THIS!!!

Been so busy with the final assignment of my degree (not including the big old dissertation) and final placement, that I have Christmas cakes to post still let alone this, my son's birthday cake, from January!
It's nearly May!!!
Where is the time going?!
Just over 3 months to go in the Faculty of Brain Sciences and I'll be looking for the job that will fill the hole left by the closing of this little cake business of mine.
Don't worry! I am very excited for the next chapter... If a touch nervous!
(cake is oreo cookie with oreo and peanut butter buttercreams... And plenty of chocolate treats)

When you have a budget but two people were inconsiderate enough to have birthdays around the same time!
Or, could be a cake for twins...

So many possibilities for this cake that is pink on one side, blue on the other so half n half at the front!!?

I have been putting this off.
It doesn't really sit easily with me but I know it's the right thing to do.
After 20 years of varying success, hitting my peak in lock down making cakes to cheer you all when we couldn't go out to celebrate, I have decided to close the doors of For Heaven's Cakes in a fully professional capacity.
I love this little job. But, if I am honest, I never really committed to it fully because it could have been so much more and perhaps that should tell me all I need to know.
I will miss it though.
However, as you know I have been studying a Masters to become a Speech and Language Therapist and I am in the final stretch of exams and dissertation so can't afford the time for cake orders. Then, hopefully, I will be gainfully employed and still won't have much time. So, I need to pick a lane.
That's not to say that if you still want a For Heaven's Cake, and understand I am now just a home baker, I might be able to help. For family and friends, including those I have picked up as regulars over the last two decades!
Thank you for your support - I very much appreciated your trust.
And, I will still be here, as I haven't posted a fair few creations since starting my degree... So if you just like the pics, there's still an FHC portfolio to enjoy.

Can't believe I never posted this...a cosmopolitan flavoured cake for my little girl (not so little at 21), first born baby's birthday. What a day that was, 21 years ago... She was determined to stay put... Not ready to face the world. Sometimes she still feels like that now! But she is... So ready. So proud of her accomplishments so far, so excited for what's to come and blessed to be her Mumma. Love you

I did manage a for this one but itwbeen so long since the last my engagement was very low!!! So sad not to receive all the rude and ridiculous suggestions you lot normally guess at!

Egg-free salted caramel cakes are a firm favourite for this family (I've made them a few!!) and working out, rugby and looking the part are key past times for these boys... Sorry, for these men!
