Big things are happening at The Tapestry Tapas Bar ✨
We’re incredibly excited for what’s coming next. As we work behind the scenes on improvements to our kitchen and prepare for a fresh new chapter, the pub will be temporarily closed.
But we’re still very much open for special moments.
We’re currently taking bookings for private functions, including large group gatherings, wake receptions, and wedding celebrations. If you’re planning something special for 30 guests or more, we’d love to host you and make it memorable.

Here at Tapestry Tapas Bar, we’re cooking chorizo with new potatoes the way it should be done — letting all those rich oils and spices from the chorizo soak into the potatoes. That’s where the flavour really comes alive. Crispy, smoky, and full of character.

Picanha on the chargrill this weekend 🔥
What a pleasure to work with such an incredible cut. Traditionally done the Brazilian way over the barbecue, but on the chargrill it absolutely shines—perfectly medium rare, with that beautiful layer of fat melting into the meat, creating unbeatable flavour and colour.
Once underrated here in the UK, picanha is finally getting the recognition it deserves. While ribeye and fillet have always been favourites, this cut is winning hearts fast—and for good reason.
Served simply with crispy fries, fresh chimichurri, and a light salad… and judging by the reactions this weekend, it’s been a real hit.

Yesterday we hosted a special opening at The Tapestry Tapas Bar — and what a success it was. After 30 years in catering, it still amazes me how powerful the right atmosphere can be. The vibe, the laughter, the connections… that’s what it’s all about.

Even on a busy day like today, with a big function for 170 people, we always find a way to make space.
Lilian and Rosa popped in for a lovely tea, and it honestly made our day — moments like these remind us what it’s all about.

Back in action 💥
After three weeks closed, today was all about getting the pub ready again — clearing, setting up, and pulling everything together for a big one…
Tomorrow afternoon we’re catering for 170 people, and we couldn’t be more excited to be back doing what we love 🍽️🍻
It’s been a full-on day, but everything is now in place and ready to go. Massive shoutout to the team who worked hard behind the scenes to make it happen — you smashed it 👏

POV: I finally have a day off from the restaurant… and instead of resting, I’m at home making one of my all-time favourite desserts — a tres leches cake.
This cake is simple, indulgent, and made for sharing. What makes it special is the sponge — there’s no butter and no oil, so it bakes light and slightly dry. That’s exactly what you want, because it soaks up all that rich tres leches milk beautifully, turning it into something incredibly soft and irresistible.

🍰 Tres Leches Cake Recipe
🛒 Ingredients
For the sponge:
• 240g flour
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt
• 5 eggs (separated)
For the tres leches soak:
• 2 tins condensed milk
• 2 tins evaporated milk
• 1 cup milk
• 150ml Baileys (optional)
For the topping:
• 1 pint whipped cream
• Fresh strawberries, sliced

👨🍳 Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a 20cm x 30cm tray with butter.
2. Whisk the egg whites until light and fluffy. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks.
3. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gently fold everything together to keep the mixture airy.
4. Pour into the tray and bake for about 30 minutes, until golden and set.
5. Mix together the condensed milk, evaporated milk, milk, and Baileys to create the tres leches sauce.
6. Once the cake is baked, poke holes all over the sponge and slowly pour the milk mixture over, allowing it to soak in fully.
7. Top with whipped cream and finish with fresh strawberries.

🌿 House Chimichurri Recipe 🌿
We’ve been making big batches of our fresh chimichurri here at the pub, and it’s too good not to share…
🧄 Ingredients
• 1 whole onion
• 3 shallots
• 4 cloves of garlic
• 1 cup olive oil
• 1 cup red wine vinegar
• 60ml water
• 1 tbsp salt
• 1 tbsp chilli
• 2 tbsp oregano
• 40g coriander
• 40g flat parsley
• 3 stems fresh mint
👨🍳 Method
Chop everything nice and fine, throw it all into a big bowl, and mix well until fully combined. Let it rest for at least 4 hours so all those beautiful flavours come together. Keep it in the fridge — it’ll last up to 4 days.
Perfect with meats, veggies, or just about anything 🔥

Amigos que costumam frequentar o vieram experimentar o que temos por aqui… e vieram com apetite! 😄
Começaram pela nossa feijoada (e que bela escolha 👏), provaram alguns tapas, e agora estão oficialmente a ficar viciados no nosso chocolate fondant — lindamente decorado e absolutamente irresistível 🍫✨

Last night at The Tapestry was one for the books.
Two 50th birthdays (we’re calling it 150 years of brilliance between them 😉), a fabulous 60th, a loud-and-proud 18th, and even a wedding celebration thrown into the mix. The pub was full of hugs, laughter, clinking glasses and proper good energy.
It was everything we’re about — friends, family, celebrations big and small, and memories being made around the table.
A huge thank you to everyone who chose to celebrate with us. The atmosphere was electric, the smiles were real, and I’m pretty sure there are a few sore heads this morning. We loved every minute of it ❤️
