Every other Thursday, jazz takes over the Chart Bar at The Clarendon. 🎷

Grab a drink, find a comfortable spot and settle in as local musicians fill the room. Some people come specifically for the jazz. Others pop in for one drink and find themselves staying rather longer than planned.

If your dog gets suspicious the moment the suitcase comes out, here’s some good news… they can come too. 🐕

Blackheath is a rather good place for a break with four-legged company.

Start with a proper leg-stretch across the heath, stop at the Hare & Billet for something to eat or drink, then wander into the village. If there’s still energy in those paws, Greenwich Park gives you plenty more ground to cover.

And after all that exploring, you can head back to The Clarendon together.

Some hotels could be almost anywhere.

Our Georgian building has been part of Blackheath for generations, looking out across the open heath with the village on one side and Royal Greenwich Park just beyond.

There are reminders of its history everywhere – in the building itself, in the stories attached to it and in the generations of guests who have walked through the doors.
