Dessert trolley anyone???
When I lived at home with my parents in Devon we used to go to a legendary independent carvery restaurant for an occasional treat dinner, which was always so exciting. The highlight though was the massive dessert trolley that would be wheeled around from table to table, filled with everything from old school gateauxās to mousse to trifles to profiteroles and tarts; literally so many desserts to choose from. You were even allowed to have a selection if you couldnāt pick and add clotted cream to your choice. As a kid this blew my tiny mind and now I have such good memories of going there and experiencing the excitement of picking from the trolley and chatting with my sisters about what they were going to have, the pros and cons of each pudding and the size of the portion you might get,
Dessert should be fun and indulgent and full of choices like this - not just an afterthought. Thatās why we do what we do and have a changing menu that offers something for everyone.
Where does a good dessert trolley now??
Big up The Hare & Hounds in Kingskerswell, Devon ā¤ļø. Their big claim to fame (other than the trolley) was that Posh Spice and Dane Bowers once popped in for a roast after treating Torquay to a performance of their song at a Radio 1 roadshow back in the day š - what a time to be alive

We run these regularly at our Dalston, Hackney shop and you get to taste 6/7 different cake flavours and a glass of bubbly. Itās a joyful event alongside other couples and gives you a chance to get fully involved in your cake taste and aesthetic.
Priced at Ā£30 per couple and this is redeemable off the booking if you decide to book with us.

2023 - our hardest year in business and personally to date.
Itās been bumper one on so many levels but the wonderful highs have been experienced along with the most brutal lows and itās been hard at times to find the enthusiasm for this brand I love deeply. But, the many lessons that have been forced upon us and subsequently learnt will now shape the future of this business.
So, we continue into 2024 with renewed optimism, energy and purpose. As a brand we are open to changing things up and to new partnerships and opportunities, whatever they may be and for me personally Iām putting my family, my health and my most important role as a mother at the top of my list of where my attention gets directed.

Christmas
As many of you know we are so proud to have partnered up with this Christmas and bring a bit of festive cheer to Central London. Ok letās be real. I know you guys generally like it when I am.
Times are really, really rough out there for small business. So many great ones we know have closed recently due to rising costs and not enough cash runway to sustain operations. We are feeling it too in a big and scary way. We have had some of our busiest months leading up to December, but it still feels precarious due to us being a fairly young business that needs to fund infrastructure and grow staffing levels to ensure stability for the future. On top of that the COGās are through the roof and some margins are incredibly tight.
Without massively large investment it feels harder than ever to actually scale a food business. And when you have nurtured and grown a brand like The Proof, which we believe has so much potential for scaling, thatās a bitter pill to swallow. Because, When you graft 7 days a week and put your entire everything into a business that you love and hold so close, itās brutal to accept that it might not work out as you had planned.
So please bear that in mind when you shop this Christmas. We know our products and price points arenāt for everyone and thatās ok. We have a solid market out there. But if you can shop small and shop local please do it - we all need your support now more than ever. Itās survival.
Have a pint in your local; eat at your favourite restaurant; buy gifts from your local kids shop; support your local newsagents, bakeries, wine sellers, coffee shops; buy from your mate who makes beautiful handmade jewellery. Wherever you can, give these small businesses a helping hand right now. We need to save our local economies and business owners more than ever from the crippling weight of the possibility of closing down. Because, with that comes the loss of jobs and livelihoods, the loss of revenue for suppliers, losses for customers and is terrible for the economy full stop. Not to mention the personal costs which I donāt need to go into.
And if you can spare it, buy a cake or a dessert from us. And have a merry bloody Christmas, we all need some joy donāt we.

We are doing hampers again this year - starting from Ā£50 upwards, we are offering our Christmas box full of Proof goodies, available to send nationwide; our beautiful Full Proof Hamper which comes in a shopping basket, loaded with treats, snacks, drinks and gifts. Or we can do bespoke options for corporate and private orders where you can set a budget and we present options for what to include from our vast array of suppliers.

If you're looking for a delicious bakery and cupcake shop somewhere in London, you'll need to head towards Fulham Road. From central London, the best option for public transport would be to take the District Line on the tube to Fulham Broadway Station, which is just a short walk from where you want to go.
Alternatively, you could also take one of several bus routes that stop nearby - there's the 14, 28, 211, and 295 all running past this area. You can find bus stops around Old Brompton Road which is also very close to the bakery.
If you prefer driving instead of public transport or walking, there are a few parking options available but it is often difficult to find parking slots in that area especially during peak hours. There may be some car parks within walking distance of the bakery such as Millennium Gloucester Hotel Car Park situated on Harrington Rd and Chelsea Cloisters Car Park on Sloane Ave.
