Our Island Nights journey continues. Next stop: Sulawesi. 🇮🇩
After evenings celebrating Bali, Java, Sumatra and Lombok, our most recent stop was East Nusa Tenggara in eastern Indonesia. If you missed that one, this is your next chance to join us.
On Friday 18 September, Sulawesi takes centre stage at Bali Satay House for an evening of food, music and culture.
On the night, there’ll be:
- A three-course Sulawesi feast
- Live music
- Traditional dance
- A fashion show
- Free entry into the evening’s raffle
Monica will also be joining us for a special Indian dance performance 💃
Starters will come to your table first, followed by a staff-served buffet for the main course, with dessert afterwards.

Okay, Battersea, we’re coming back! 🇮🇩
Last time at CelebrASIA, we barely had time to look up. The queue kept moving, the pans kept sizzling and somehow, three days disappeared very quickly.
From 11–13 September, Bali Satay House will be back at Battersea Power Station, serving our Indonesian food as part of three days celebrating Southeast Asian food, music and culture.

If Indonesian food is new to you, Mie Goreng is a pretty good place to start. 🇮🇩
It’s warm, savoury, comforting and full of flavour, but still familiar enough that you’re not staring at the menu wondering what on earth you’ve just committed to.
Ours is cooked fresh to order with wok-fried noodles, vegetables, egg, chicken satay, sambal and prawn crackers. A little sweet, a little savoury, a bit of heat on the side, and very easy to get along with.
So if you’ve been meaning to try us but haven’t known where to begin, start here. We’ll happily help you work your way through the rest of the menu afterwards.

At Bali Satay House, Island Nights are our way of travelling through Indonesia without leaving High Barnet, one region, one story, one evening at a time.
Next stop: East Nusa Tenggara.
For this chapter, we’re journeying through Flores, Sumba, Timor and Alor, bringing together the food, music and traditions of the region as part of our Indonesian Independence celebrations.
For one night, the restaurant changes rhythm.
A three-course feast arrives at the table.
Live music fills the room, led by .onstage, who’ll also be guiding the evening along the way.
Traditional dance takes the floor, including returning as one of the dancers bringing the night to life.
And the stories, colours and culture of East Nusa Tenggara unfold around you.

Last Sunday, we brought Bali Satay House to Victoria Park Market 🇮🇩
We spent the day cooking Mie Goreng live in the wok, grilling satay and sharing freshly prepared Indonesian food with plenty of new faces.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, whether you came to try our food or simply have a chat. It was lovely meeting you and a big thank you to Victoria Park Market for having us.
