Applications are closing soon to support our latest cohort of trainees as they take the leap into paid employment. For many of our graduates, this will be their very first job - and having a dedicated mentor can make all the difference in helping them settle in with confidence.
If you have personal or professional experience with learning disabilities and/or neurodiversity, we need your support as a sounding board, cheerleader, and consistent guide!
The Details
- Time Commitment: One-hour meeting every three weeks (9-month commitment)
- Location: Daytime meetings at our Covent Garden café (plus a free coffee on us!)
- Support Provided: Full training, safeguarding guidance, and an Enhanced DBS check included

Meet Tussaint - affectionately known as T-Man - a highly motivated and personable guy who brings fantastic energy wherever he goes! With his natural confidence and friendly spirit, T-Man loves connecting with peers and staff, especially when swapping thoughts on TV shows or cheering on his favorite team, Chelsea FC.
We were thrilled to hear him call Fair Shot "the best experience ever," and he's already off to an incredible start with a fantastic Italian restaurant as a prep chef - a credit to his internship. The feedback from his team has been glowing across the board - they are absolute super fans and couldn't be more excited to have such a positive, dedicated dude on board! 😊🥳

Imagine being able to watch a Spider-Man movie and then, moments later, ask Spider-Man himself ALL the burning questions you’ve ever had about your superhero…
That’s exactly what happened yesterday. 🕷️🕸️
At Fair Shot, we’re incredibly grateful to be supported by some truly special organisations, trusts and foundations. One of those is The Brothers Trust, the Holland family’s charitable foundation.
Yesterday, some of our wonderful Fair Shot graduates and café team had the privilege of attending an incredibly special, invite-only private screening hosted by the Holland family, alongside other charities they support. 💚
It was such a lovely opportunity to celebrate our recent graduates and spoil our brilliant café team but what made the evening particularly special was the care that went into making everyone feel so welcome, included and special.
Tom Holland took the time to have a photograph with every single person, answer their questions honestly, and ask them just as many questions in return. For young people who have grown up seeing him as their superhero, having that time with him was genuinely unforgettable. Important questions of course were his most ordered dinner dish, a great tech question from Kian and what football team he supports.
It was a wonderful reminder that The Brothers Trust’s generosity goes far beyond funding. They go above and beyond to make the people and organisations they support feel valued, celebrated and genuinely looked after. 🎬
We feel incredibly privileged to be one of those organisations.
Thank you to the Holland family, Tom Holland and everyone at The Brothers Trust for believing in Fair Shot and for giving our graduates and team such a magical evening to remember.

This time of year is always full of emotion. Our incredible learners, now graduates, have wrapped up their café learning and are getting ready for their next chapter, employment!
Exciting job offers are beginning to progress for our job-ready graduates: roles and companies carefully matched to the dreams and skills of our graduates, site visits, meeting new teams, volunteer mentors warming up and there have even been a few first shifts - you should see how our team light up each time we get an update.
11-months of skill learning, jokes and dedication flew past in the blink of an eye it seems.
Thank you for every coffee, every donation, and every time you’ve shared our mission. We genuinely couldn’t do this without you!

Become a Volunteer Mentor ✨
Our graduates spend 11 months on Fair Shot’s Hospitality Training Programme preparing for paid employment.
For many graduates, this will be their first ever paid role. Having a mentor alongside them can help our graduates settle into work with confidence.
We’re looking for Volunteer Mentors to provide encouragement, a listening ear and consistent support as our graduates begin their employment journey.
The role
• One-hour meeting every three weeks
