A moment for our Jaffna Spiced Pork Ribs.

Marinated in a dark, roasted Jaffna spice blend, these Iberico pork ribs are bold, peppery and irresistibly juicy, packed with the deep, warming flavours that make Sri Lankan spices so special. 🤍

For the perfect pairing, enjoy them with one of our new cocktails. The Kandy Garden brings together El Jimador tequila, pineapple, blue agave and citrus for a bright, refreshing contrast, while the Serendib Spritz offers an equally vibrant accompaniment. 🍍

A couple of weeks ago, we spent the afternoon with Jonny, tasting our way through a selection of reds, rosés, whites, sparkling wines and Champagnes.

At both Kolamba restaurants, we believe that a thoughtfully chosen wine can elevate a meal and complement the vibrant flavours of Sri Lankan cooking. That’s why we take great care in curating a wine list that offers something for every palate, while pairing beautifully with the dishes we serve.

Just as importantly, we invest time in sharing that knowledge with our team. Regular tastings like these help our staff build a deeper understanding of the wines on our list, giving them the confidence to recommend pairings and guide guests towards a glass they’ll truly enjoy.

For us, hospitality is about more than serving great food and wine, it’s about creating a warm, informed and memorable experience around the table.

A new dish for summer at Kolamba East: our Pepper Chicken Chops.

Tender chicken chops served with yellow pepper, coconut chutney and crispy leeks, inspired by the bold, aromatic flavours of Sri Lankan cooking, where Ceylon black pepper takes centre stage.

With every new menu addition, we aim to showcase the vibrant depth and richness of island flavours, and this dish is no exception. Perfectly paired with a crisp white wine on a summer’s day.

Made From Memory – Ep.1: Jaggery Beef
Told by Sithum, one of our chefs at Kolamba Soho.

Jaggery Beef is a dish that sits at the heart of many Sri Lankan family tables. For Sithum, it brings back vivid memories of childhood, sitting eagerly by the table, always asking his mum for another spoonful before he’d even finished the first.

It’s a recipe rooted in patience, care, and tradition. As Sithum often says, Sri Lankan cooking isn’t rushed. The best curries take time. Time to prepare, time to simmer, and time for every spice to work its magic.

Growing up, the ingredients came fresh from the local market, and the aromas of roasted spices would fill the family home long before dinner was served. Those same values guide us today at Kolamba Soho. We use fresh ingredients, authentic Sri Lankan spices, and traditional techniques to create dishes that taste just as they should.

These are the stories that inspire our food, and they’re the reason we’ve started the Made From Memory series. Behind every dish is a family memory, a cherished recipe, or a moment around the table that has been passed down through generations. We want to share those stories with you.

Through dishes like Jaggery Beef, we hope to bring a little piece of Sri Lanka to London… one plate at a time.
