Antony Hurley (banjo) and Owen Spafford (fiddle) present Seven Hills, a new instrumental EP, launching at the Scolt Head in De Beauvoir!

This Lanterne Records release is a soul-stirring collaboration of contemporary folk music and literature. It will come to life on the night with Owen and Antony on fiddle and banjo, and with live readings by contributing authors.

Current situation: too hot for unnecessary movement.

As many of you will understand, wearing a luxurious black fur coat in this weather is… challenging.

I remain handsome, obviously, but honestly it’s a lot.

Thankfully the beer garden foliage provides excellent shade, a cool breeze and the purr-fect hidden vantage point for observing the humans.

Who’s on a first date?
Who’s pretending this is their last pint?
Who’s dropped a chip?

Nothing escapes my whisker-sharp judgement.

If you need me, I’ll be tucked away in the greenery like a tiny panther with management responsibilities.

Taking a brief paws off before returning to my supervisory duties.

Stay cool. And drink water. Or a cheeky pint.

Trying to sit on my side of the bar stool? Brave.

I like to keep a watchful eye on proceedings from here - making sure the atmosphere stays cosy and full of good vibes, the service remains top-notch, and everyone behaves themselves accordingly.

It’s my paws-on management style.

Some customers come in for the Guinness.
Some for the fish and chips (excellent choice!).
Most, understandably, come to admire me.

Anyway, I’ll allow it.

For those traveling by public transport, take the overground to Dalston Junction and then walk south along Dalston Lane for about 10 minutes before turning left onto Culford Road.

If driving, take the A107 from central London and turn onto Culford Road. Limited street parking is available in the surrounding area but it may be easier to park at a nearby paid car park.
