☕ Platform People #1: Louis
Meet Louis, one of our regulars at Platform Cafe. He works as a freelance producer across music, film and TV 🎧🎬
After settling into a house share with some friends in Brixton, he spent time travelling to some of central London’s co-working spaces before settling into , an office closer to home, and just across the road from us!
As we move into summer, he says his go-to drink is an iced Americano but what keeps him coming back to Platform Cafe is the amazing food and the community of people 💚

Wonderful to host 's Community Breakfast this morning, with this month's session shining a spotlight on services supporting women and girls ☕️
We enjoyed tea, coffee, granola and toast while networking with local residents and organisations, including a moving talk by Lorraine from .life.

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate chef to lead kitchen operations at our busy community café here in Loughborough Junction.
This is a fantastic opportunity to combine a love of great food with making a positive impact in the local community 💚
You’ll oversee our vegetarian and vegan menu, support young people to develop food skills, help deliver affordable community food initiatives, and play a key role in reducing food waste through creative use of surplus ingredients 🌱

Our sister project Loughborough Farm are holding their monthly market this Saturday 6 June 11am–3pm and we’ll be open too 🌱
Stop by for a coffee, tea, or snack before heading across the road to browse their fantastic selection of plants 🪴☕
Loughborough Farm is a community growing project where volunteers grow and share vegetables, fruit, and plants, giving some of the surplus to us too 🌿

🧹 Join us this Sunday for the Brixton Community Clean-Up and our Pay What You Can Day at The Platform Café ✨
The last clean-up in March was a fantastic example of local people coming together to care for our neighbourhood, and we’re looking forward to doing it all again this weekend 💚
We’ll be meeting at the Platform Café to collect litter-picking equipment before heading out together at 12:30pm.
Why not arrive a little early, grab a tea, coffee or bite to eat, and say hello to fellow volunteers before we set off?
☕ The café will be open from 11:30am–3pm for our Pay What You Can Day, with everything on the menu available on a pay-what-feels-right basis.
Whether you’re joining the clean-up, popping in for lunch, or both, we’d love to see you there!

It’s our monthly market this Saturday 6 June - we’ll be selling a mix of plants including vegetables, herbs and flowers:
🍅 10 tomato varieties including some micro-dwarfing ones for the balcony
🌱 6 squash varieties
🥒 Cucumbers and cucamelons
🎃 Pumpkins and courgettes
🥬 Parsley, kohlrabi, lettuce, beet leaves. chard.

🌱 Yarrow plugs - summer fruits
Come along 11am-3pm - our stall is in front of the farm on Loughborough Road - .lj opposite will also be open for a refreshment stop!

We’ll be opening 11:30am-3pm to offer a space to pause and refuel alongside the Brixton Community Clean-Up 💚
Whether you’re out litter-picking or you’re just passing by, you’re welcome to come in and take a breather with us, with all food and drinks available on a pay what you can basis.
If you’re able to give a little more, it helps keep the café running and ensures we can continue to offer affordable, welcoming space for everyone in our community.
