On Sunday we hosted a screening of People’s Emergency Briefing at The Platform Cafe 🎬
The film looks at the climate and ecological emergency, bringing together different voices to explore the challenges we’re facing and what we can do about them.
A big thank you to everyone who came along and got involved in the discussion afterwards - it was great to hear everyone’s thoughts and have such a good conversation 💬
We’d love to screen the film again, so let us know if you’d be interested in coming along or helping to organise another screening.

☕ Platform People # 3: Iona
Meet Iona, one of our regulars at Platform Cafe. Iona works for King's College Hospital Charity, the charity at one of the hospital’s facilities in Coldharbour Works.
The charity raises funds for research projects and equipment to develop better treatments and care for patients.
Iona visits Platform Cafe about three times a week. Because of her busy schedule, she often doesn’t have time to prepare her own meals, so she really values the fresh, nutritious food the cafe offers 💚

Thank you to everyone who came along to Connecting and Cooling Fiveways on Friday! ☀️
We were delighted to host this free community event outside The Platform Cafe in partnership with Cooling Fiveways, an important heat-risk project bringing together Avant Big Local, Lambeth Council, Ecosystem Coldharbour, LSBU: London South Bank University and King's College London.
We were also joined by Bureau Of Silly ideas, Helen Hayes, London Fire Brigade, Age UK Lambeth, London Sport, MLC Enterprise and Walcot Foundation.
The café team kept the cooling refreshments coming throughout the event, including our ever-popular hibiscus and ginger drink, as well as fresh Greek salad and nutritious berry and banana smoothies 🍹🥗
Loughborough Farmoughfarm gave out free basil, tomato, chilli and sweet pepper plants 🪴 while kids from Grove Adventure Playground helped to make and hand out fruit skewers 🍓
