Hola Ian!

Meet Ian Ciapara, our Head Chef. Her path winds from the Pacific shores of Baja California to the smoky kitchens of Oaxaca, through mezcal distilleries and London’s most beloved Mexican tables, and it has led her, inevitably, here. At Cavita, Ian brings years of unlearning and relearning, of cooking beside traditional cooks and letting Mexico speak through every dish. This is her kitchen now.

We’re so glad you’re at his table. 🌿🔥

“After 20 years working in this industry, I am constantly reminded of the importance of community and human connection, and that every day is an opportunity to learn something new.
We live in a world where good, healthy, delicious food is often almost inaccessible in cities. With Cavita, I want to show that it is not impossible. The roots of Mexican food are our foundation. For me, ingredients are the soul of the kitchen, and the love and care with which we prepare and deliver every dish to the table is the essence that creates something magical. It is an art.
thank you all. Because of you, we are able to open our doors every single day.
This journey shows how powerful every single person can be in this world.
With love, Adriana Cavita.”

When you think of corn in Mexican food, you probably think tortillas, tamales or elotes. But corn also shines in dessert.

Like our Pan de Elote — a warm corn cake soaked in cajeta caramel, topped with Mexican vanilla ice cream.

You’ll also find favourites like Buñuelos and Oaxacan chocolate mousse — simple, bold, and full of flavour. Every dish is a nod to the heart of Mexican cooking.

Mexican restaurants are known for their vibrant colors, tantalizing spices, and delicious dishes that transport you straight to Mexico. And Cavita Restaurant on Wigmore Street in London is no exception. Their guiding principle is to celebrate and honor Mexican culture through its food, and they do it exceptionally well.

One of the highlights of Cavita Restaurant is their Saturday Brunch en casa. The Huevos Rancheros is a must-try dish - sunny-side-up eggs nestled on crispy tortillas, smothered in zesty ranchero sauce. And don't forget to quench your thirst with a refreshing glass of agua fresca bursting with flavors like Agua de Jamaica, Cucumber or Horchata.

If you're looking for something more substantial, try the Cochinita Pibil - slow-cooked free-range pork shoulder marinated in Axiote and served with Guacasalsa, pickled onions, limes, and homemade fresh tortillas. It's a dish that will leave you wanting more.

Cavita Restaurant also offers lunch from Tuesday to Friday from 11:30 to 2:30 pm. You can book your table online or walk-in anytime.

To top it all off, Cavita Restaurant has an excellent selection of Margaritas, Tequilas, and Mezcales that perfectly complement their delicious food.
