Episode 127 - Lemonade in 35C
Today I gave out free lemonade to people working in this sweltering heat, including bus drivers and road workers. The heatwave has hit London but that won't stop us from doing our thing 🔥

What an INSANE week it's been.
4am starts, 9pm finishes. The heat. The new logistical challenges of doughnuts. Meal prepping so that lunch breaks are short and efficient. Honestly, if we didn't genuinely love what we do, we'd throw in the towel by now. Instead, as crazy as it sounds, we're only excited for next week!
Thank you to the lovely customer who gave us the free lucozades. Thank you to everyone else who came down to support us today despite the heat. We hope those who picked up treats for their dads/father figures were able to put a smile on someone's face. Happy Father's Day and see you next week ❤️

Brioche Doughnuts and Long Johns have made a grand return to The Bakineer 🙌
A little history: we first started experimenting with doughnuts from our home kitchen in 2016. In 2023, these flew off the counter at our first shop in Mudchute Farm. Since moving into our Chingford store in 2025, we've been unable to do these due to the limited infrastructure within the shop. But with our new baker's table and more space, doughnuts will be making a regular appearance.
Today we have:
- Raspberry Jam Doughnuts
- Blackcurrant Cheesecake Doughnuts
- Black Cherry Long Johns
Proofed to perfection. Fried fresh everyday. Filled to the brim.

Thank you for today 🙏 we have already started working on tomorrow's cinnamon buns! But first, just a quick note on website reservations:
Website orders are for next day collection only. Sometimes we get people turn up on the same day as the order was placed. We try our best to accommodate in such cases but it's not always possible and sadly they may leave empty handed.
So for collection orders tomorrow (Sunday), orders need to be in by tonight. We will then leave your items aside for you tomorrow morning and you can walk in at anytime which suits you.

Reminder of our new opening hours.
Weekends work a bit differently now. We open at 9am on Saturdays and Sundays and close either once we sell out or 7pm, whichever comes first.

We built our own baker's table! Here's a quick rundown on what we've been up to during our week off.
We asked our carpenter brother for help and he built us a giant 3m oak table. It won't be ready to use until July as the oil is still curing but it's a massive step forward from working on chest freezers and temporary steel tables. With proper care and maintenance, this table is expected to last at least until the year 2100!
Secondly, at last we got rid of that cash machine. This has freed up significant space in the shop. What should we do with this space?!
Finally, we've revised our opening hours going forward. The weekday hours will remain the same (Wed-Fri 11am-7pm) to give those with day jobs an opportunity to purchase bakes after work. The weekend hours are now: Sat-Sun 9am-7pm (or until sellout). Now that our long awaited pastry sheeter and table are in place, we're finally able to have the counter ready early for our customers to stock up in the morning and go about their day.

Deadline 7pm tonight to order a Cinnamon Bun Tray (x20) for Eid (Wednesday 27/05).
Price: £89.99.
This will be baked and packed in an aluminium foil container to keep the buns warm and soft for several hours. Pickup from our store in the morning.
