This is not a decision we ever wanted to make. However, the reality is that the current economic climate, rising ingredient and product costs, increasing wages, higher National Insurance contributions, escalating overheads and crippling business rates have made it increasingly difficult for independent businesses like ours to remain viable in large town centre locations.

We want to make it absolutely clear that this decision is not a reflection on our landlord, who has worked hard to support us throughout our tenancy and has been understanding of the challenges facing small businesses. We are grateful for their efforts and support.

We are immensely proud of what we built at Chapel Street and incredibly thankful to every customer who chose to support a local independent business. Whether you visited once or became a regular, you helped create something special.

While this chapter is coming to an end, Stretched & Fired Woodbridge is still open and availableon the platformd. We remain passionate about bringing great food to our customers and will share updates on our next steps soon as we search out more viable locations in and around Guildford
