Our Crab Kari Omelette, that has quickly become a favourite at Hoppers Shoreditch, pairs a comforting, fluffy omelette with crunchy podi-coated soft shell crab, a flaky thread parotta, and a generous pour of savoury crab gravy. It will transport you straight to the bustling mess halls of Madurai that inspired this dish.

If you haven’t tried it yet, our Crab Kari Omelette is exclusively served at Hoppers Shoreditch.

Every strike has a silver lining...

During this week’s tube strikes (Tuesday –Thursday), anyone dining on the Hoppers Experience Menu gets a complimentary Mango Spritz, our spring special on us. It’s our little way of turning a frustrating commute into a reason to sit down, slow down, and eat well.

The Hoppers Experience is a proper feast of everything we do best. Short eats for the table, your choice of kari, then hoppers, dosas and sides for tearing, dipping and scooping. A little bit of everything, for everyone to share at £36 per person.

We’ve also got Ceylonese Iced Tea, Passionfruit Soda and House Ginger Beer as non-alc alternatives.

And because good hospitality goes further than our four walls,  £1 from every Mango Spritz will still go to Feeding the Future, our charity initiative, providing food and support to children in need in Sri Lanka.

Available across Soho, Marylebone, King’s Cross & Shoreditch, Tue 20 -Thu 22 May.

In Kerala, banana chips are the local go-to snack, loved and eaten just as much as a bag of crisps. Thinly sliced raw banana, fried in coconut oil until golden and crisp, then sprinkled with salt for a perfectly savoury crunch.

A familiar sight in Kerala is street vendors slicing through huge bunches of green bananas straight into giant woks of bubbling coconut oil, frying fresh batches through the day for people to snack on warm.

At Hoppers, we fry our banana chips fresh daily and serve them as a savoury snack to share over drinks. Best enjoyed with a cold Toddy Ale or one of our signature cocktails.

Snapshots of spring at Hoppers.

As the days get longer and our terraces at Marylebone and King’s Cross are in full swing, we are loving the familar buzz that arrives with the sun. Crispy hoppers fresh off the pan, cocktails carefully poured and our shorteats and karis making their way to the table.

It’s the season for long lunches, easy evenings and a few extra rounds with friends.

Kerala has a way of cooking fish that we fell in love with during our travels down the southern coast of India. It’s simple, honest, and full of flavour.

Our Kerala Sizzling Fish Kari is a salmon fillet wrapped in banana leaf, arriving at your table with a fragrant sizzle, and a creamy Kerala curry. Mild, comforting, and perfect for dipping a hopper or a dosa.

Exclusive to Hoppers Shoreditch. Book your table now.

Last week we celebrated Vishu, the Malayali New Year with our Hoppers family. Chef Renjith and the team prepared a traditional Sadya, an unforgettable vegetarian banquet served on a banana leaf.

Sitting side by side, being served by each other and laughing together was a powerful reminder of what makes us who we are. Love, kindness and a shared passion for great food.

We will be hosting a similar meal for guests this summer. Who wants to come along?

We wish all Sri Lankans around the world a very happy Sinhala and Tamil New Year!

To honour the traditions of Sri Lanka, we are sharing our Head Chef Dasun’s milk rice recipe that’s close to his heart. Kiribath, or Sri Lankan Milk Rice, symbolises purity, prosperity and is prepared with love to mark new beginnings on this auspicious day.

We hope you find a moment to partake in this tradition today and look forward to seeing you at Hoppers in the coming year.

From all of us at Hoppers, Suba Aluth Awuruddak Weva. Puthandu Vazhtukal. Happy New Year. We wish you a year filled with joy, prosperity, and, of course, plenty of delicious feasting.

The Recipe: Sri Lankan Milk Rice (Kiribath)

200g pudding or short-grain rice
400ml water
200ml coconut milk
1 tsp salt
Oil (to grease the pan)

Chef’s Tip: For the full experience, Chef Dasun loves pairing his Milk Rice with Kalupol Pork Kari and Seeni Sambol on the side.

Swipe left to see how it all comes together.

Spring Special: Prawn Kari Dosa

Our prawn kari dosa is an ode to the street side kades of Madurai. We pour a rich Tamil prawn curry over bubbling dosa batter as it cooks on the tawa creating a dish that’s the best of both worlds, a dosa and a curry.

Come try this at Hoppers Soho, Marylebone and King’s Cross from 13 April for a limited time.

Thank you Fay Maschler for your vivid review of each and every detail. It means a great deal to see our passion recognized by someone who knows these regions so well.

A few of our favourite moments from our 10th birthday staff party earlier this year. A chance to pause and celebrate the people behind Hoppers.

Ten years of Hoppers couldn’t have been possible without an incredible team who bring heart, warmth and enthusiasm every day. From the energy in our dining rooms to the soul in our kitchens, they are the reason we are proud to celebrate this milestone together.

A huge thank you to everyone, past and present, for being part of the Hoppers family. Here’s to the memories.

We’re very grateful to see Hoppers Shoreditch featured in today.

Shoreditch has always been a place that evolves, and opening here gave us the chance to do the same, exploring new influences from south India, towards flavours of Chettinad, Madurai and Bangalore, while keeping some of our favourite dishes close.

A big thank you to for the generous review. We’ve put a lot of care into the stories, flavours and small details at our Shoreditch home, so it means a lot to us to see them recognised.

Both come with curries and sambols.

And the best bit, it’s only £15 per person. So there’s no reason not to ditch your sandwich and come join us for a quick lunch.

Available Mon-Fri, 12-3pm for a limited time only.

While Eid is a time of celebration it is also a time of giving, and in that spirit we would love for you to come in and break bread with us and at the same time consider contributing to Feeding the Future, our charity initiative in Sri Lanka.

Feeding the Future began in 2022 and is one of our proudest achievements at Hoppers. We began with one simple hope: to ensure every child has access to vital nutrition and education.

With your help, we’ve raised £400,000+, supported 1,250 families each month, and helped build three pre-schools for 148 children. We have big plans to do a lot more.
