Absolutely boggling news. It's been an incredible year for all of us here at The Cockpit, a boundless cornucopia of festivity and revelry so lovingly orchestrated by such a dedicated, passionate team. To the squad past and present, what a commendable bunch of gangsters you are.
To everyone in the locale (you absolutely know who you are) and beyond that supports our little boozer, and all the events that we take part in collectively, thank you for your enduring patronage and fervent imbibement in all the delicious wares we share and enthuse over.
We'll be putting on a party for you Wednesday 18th November...possibly with pie and mash...possibly with a bit of Chas & Dave... definitely with a few babychams 🍻🎸🥧
What illustrious company to be in with this final four so good luck to fellow finalists The Countryman, The Turks Head and The Tamworth Tap, all outstanding battleships, not withstanding the incredible competition throughout this year's voting.

Tomorrow night CAMRA will be presenting us with Greater London Pub of the Year for 2026!!! We're gunna make it a proper shindig, so we're putting on a load of grub as well as having Dollally Tap playing through the night.
Massively grateful for this accolade so hoping to see all your beautiful faces there to join in the celebrations!!!

OKTOBERFEST AT THE COCKPIT!!!
The first weekend of October, we're cracking out the steins and wurst to celebrate this most religious of pub holidays, OKTOBERFEST!!!
We've imported some classic Munchen festbier from Paulaner, one of the Big 6 Oktoberfest breweries for the weekend, plus we've got some classic wurst on the grill, and some special festbier cask brews by the country's best breweries!!!!
Starting next Saturday 3rd October, firing up the grill at 5pm, through till Sunday 4th October with food from 12pm GET INVOLVED!!!!

What an absolutely bonkers bonanza that weekend was. Our hearts pour out to everyone that came out to party, to the cricket club, and to all the volunteers that made this amazing festival possible, this community really is the purest honey for the soul. We had such a blast, we cannot wait to do it again next year.
Hands up, we ran out of cask b**r earlier than anticipated – we misjudged how many of you were so enthusiastic about the cask line-up as opposed to the keg b**r and c***r menu, of which there was copious amounts available throughout the event. We live and learn and next year’s cask menu will be twice as eclectic and doubly stocked.
Unfortunately, to create the perfect storm, between 4:30 and 5:30 pm we had three debilitating power outages to the bar area that rendered our keg b**r machines defunct. We rectified the situation as quickly as possible but obviously queues had formed and for that period these queues were unacceptable by our standards. A huge well done to our fantastic staff and volunteers who coped with this so admirably, we are comfortable that queues outside of that period were very short.
This is our first time organising such a huge event – we’ve learnt a lot and cannot wait to go bigger and better next year.
You’re all bloody angels sent from the heavens, sending awkwardly long embraces through the waves of the internet-o-sphere to every single one of you. And strenuously awkward long embraces to everyone that volunteered, cranked the cogs behind the scenes, or just support these community events whichever way they can.

We've completely sold out of tickets for this year's Chislehurst B**r & Music Festival, thanks everyone for your support, can't wait to see all 3500 of you there!!!
Apologies to anyone that has missed out this year, we will miss you, but keep an eye out for the announcement for next year, it could be even bigger!!!

To reach Royal Parade in Chislehurst, visitors can take either the Southeastern train to Chislehurst station or the 269 bus to Chislehurst War Memorial. From there, it's a short walk to Royal Parade.
Alternatively, drivers can take the A222 or A208 and turn onto Queensway (B263) toward Chislehurst. There is parking available on both sides of Royal Parade.
