🍪RECIPE TIME 🍪
Our beloved pecan & chocolate chips cookies- you’re welcome
To make x12 cookies, you will need:
120g caster sugar
120g dark brown sugar
80g oat milk
100g olive oil
260g plain flour
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
Pinch of sea salt (and a little extra for baking)
100g vegan chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
80g pecan pieces
1 tsp ground star anise
Zest from a whole orange
In a large mixing bowl combine the two types of sugar with the oat milk and olive oil, and mix really well to combine until the sugars start to dissolve. This can easily be done by hand (you can of course use an electric mixer with a paddle if you prefer). Add the remaining ingredients, and mix well until everything is well combined. Cover and chill in the fridge for about an hour. Divide the cold dough into 12 mounds of about 70g each. Roll each mound into a ball and place on a tray lined with parchment paper. Store in the freezer if you don't plan to eat immediately. When you are ready to bake, heat your oven to 180C (fan assist). Place cookies as you plan to eat on a flat baking tray with enough space between them as they spread a fair bit. Bake for 14-15 minutes from frozen (or 12-13 from chilled) until the cookies are spread to a beautiful flat dome and are very lightly golden. This is a soft-centre cookie, so best let them cool a little on the tray before serving, to allow them to firm up slightly. They keep well but are best consumed warmish and fresh.

We have some lovely new products on our shelves here at Honey & Spice, from
As we always say good cooking starts off with good shopping.
2/ We have amba sauce. This is a fresh & tangy fusion of mango, chilli, salt & spices, like turmeric, fenugreek. We use this on our menu, most notable with our Sabich sandwich. It partners really well with tahini, so naturally a match made in heaven for us
3/ Roasted aubergine purée. This flamed roasted aubergine, adds a smokey edge and sophisticated twist to most dishes. And cuts down prep time for baba gaboush or mutabbal
4/ We have pickled lemon paste. Bursting with a rich citrus flavour, adding the perfect lemony edge to roasted veggies or dips.
5/ We have Fifel chuma, which is a blend of garlic & red bell pepper with chilli. Good for marinades, dips, stews or salads.
6/ shifka hot pickled peppers. Need we say more?

What people say
Honey & Spice, located on Warren Street in London, is a Middle Eastern deli that offers an exceptional dining experience. The deli is owned by Sarit Packer and Itamar Srulovich of Honey & Co., who are known for their delicious food and impeccable service. The seasonal lunches served at Honey & Spice are a must-try, with dishes like slow-cooked chicken thighs with leeks and courgette, parsnip, walnut & currant koftas with green tahini drizzle, and leek & feta prasopita pie with crispy filo pastry. The deli also serves a super comforting vegan lentil & root vegetable stew topped with a drizzle of tahini and green zehug. All three plates are full of seasonal goodies and equally delicious. In addition to the lunch menu, Honey & Spice also offers a rare blood orange & apricot sorbet that can only be enjoyed during a short window of time. This sorbet is truly a celestial event of sorts that should not be missed. Overall, Honey & Spice is an excellent choice for anyone looking for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine in London.
