The long awaited to València finally done last week..5 glorious days of relaxed lunches, celebration meals (3 birthday meals in 5 days)…lots of walking around and chatting, making new friends and trying new drinks… it’s been a long time coming but this trip was just what the doctor ordered before we get into the Christmas term madness!

When it’s hot and humid like today it takes me back to my hometown Kerala.. where this kind of weather is not a 1week heatwave but all year round!! And this is a family favourite during this time.. made with kokum-tamarind and chilli powder, the spicy tangy flavour cools your body down and tastes super delish!!! Serve with rice and buttermilk to wash it down!!

It’s been such a lovely journey with for Mythili from nursery to Yr3. The school has nurtured her spirit, made her the confident, cheeky, kind and enthusiastic person that she is abs for thst ee will be ever grateful… time to move on to pastures new… we will miss the school community terribly but we are still local and still have a tween in there for a few more months so will not be strangers! Thank you!

Weekend lunches are always an extra special because of two key ingredients … time and headspace 😂😂😂… today on the menu is Jambalaya, chanteray carrots with a honey glaze and Padron peppers .. I love padron peppers anytime of the year and though not a traditional side to the Jambalaya it works so well…

It’s been another interesting year but as we look forward to 2022, there is hope, there are prayers and there is gratefulness for our blessings!! Vedant’s first try at Nutella and jam filled doughnuts , and loads of snacks to see us into the new year!! Have a blessed year everyone
