We recently added Dosai to our menu to include a common breakfast/dinner from the northern part of Sri Lanka, thus capturing everyday food from all over Sri Lanka in our menu.
Dosai is the Tamil version of pancake/crepe, but made with ground urad dhal. Dosai is very popular in South India. Tamils in Sri Lanka generally have this with sambar and sambol instead of chutney.
Sambar is essentially a flavourful mixed vegetable and lentil soup.
Sambol is a dry coconut relish where the ingredients ground and blended together in mortar and pestle. This is different to the chutney South Indians have with, which is a spicy coconut sauce.
Give it a try, we are sure to surprise you with the depth of flavours!

Kadala Vadai
Spicy Channa Fritters
Vadai is a popular South Indian / Sri Lankan dish which is served for breakfast or simply as a snack. Here we have Kadala Vadai which is made with split Channa dhal, dried chillies, onions, garlic, ginger and curry leaves which is then deep fried.
Perfect snack if you’d love something vegan and crunchy! 🌱

Pol Roti with Chickpea curry and lunu miris
A simple yet Flavour packed vegan meal 🌱
Pol Roti is a flat bread made with fresh coconut, but rolled thin, so that it can be enjoyed with a curry of your choice. At Serendip Flavours we make our pol Roti with gluten free flour.
Lunu Miris is a fresh spicy/hot onion relish, made with onions (Lunu) and dried red chilies (Miris) and combined with lime and salt to taste.
Our chickpea curry is slightly spicy and enhanced with the sweetness of tamarind.
Vegans/Gluten free folks you will love this combo!
Looking forward to introducing this on the menu!

Sri Lankan Chinese 🇱🇰🇨🇳
Devilled Chicken 🐔, Hot Butter Cuttlefish 🦑, Veg fried / steamed rice 🍚 served with our very own home made vegan Chili oil 🌱🌶
This food takes me back to my childhood days in Colombo, Sri Lanka. We all have our own favourite spot, be it Chinese Dragon, Colombo Swimming Club, Flower Drum, etc
What was your spot?
The Devilled Chicken, in a hot and sour sauce, crispy fried Cuttlefish in a spicy but sweet butter sauce with some chili oil for extra kick...... yummmmmmm🤤. It was soo good it vanished from the table to tummy in no time.

Koonisso (Dried shrimps) Baduma 🦐
Baduma is a Sri Lankan spicy fried concoction that we make which can be preserved for a long time, so that our everyday rice dishes can be made more exciting. Some even have it as a snack, but I enjoy it as a side to any rice based dishes. Something as simple/boring as rice and dhal curry can be a lot more exciting when eaten with a baduma.
Back home we make baduma out of dried fish, dried shrimps, beef (like a spicy beef jerky concoction), cashew, jackfruit seeds, gotukola, moringa, and many more.
All we do is toss it through fried onions, curry leaves, garlic, ginger where appropriate and spices to give it an extra kick! 💥

Hi all,
We are making lamprais today/tomorrow.
Lamprais is an age old recipe where we wrap spiced rice cooked in stock and other entrées including chicken/lamb curry, ash plantain, aubergine pickle, caramelised onion relish, fish cutlets and a boiled-fried egg in a banana leaf and bake it in the oven to enhance the Flavours. It’s a Sri Lankan Dutch recipe passed down for over 300 years.
Order online via our website, or find us on JustEat, Ubereats or Deliveroo.
Have a lovely weekend. Enjoy the ☀️
