It all started with a simple idea: to allow as many people as possible to access an organic but also healthy, balanced and quality diet. And that has remained our ambition, for more than 30 years now. In 1988, we made quite a bet: to make organic food accessible to as many people as possible. Our plan to get there? Simply to offer our organic products in French supermarkets. At the time, we were the first. And since then, we continue to grow, to evolve to offer an ever healthier and more responsible diet. Eating Organic food is good. But eating organic and balanced food is even better! This is why our ingredients are also selected for their nutritional qualities: exit white flour, refined sugars, salt excess… Long live fibre, wholemeal flours and natural sugars! And because a balanced diet also rhymes with more plants, our range has essentially been built around the idea of making your life easier, by offering you the best alternatives. While being deliciously tasty! If our products are that good, it is because they are good for your health, for your palate, but also for the environment. We believe that every ingredient must respect the planet, from its production to its arrival on the plates. Certified B Corp in 2017, we have also created the Bjorg, Bonneterre et Citoyens Foundation. The goal? Raising consumer awareness and promoting a healthy and sustainable eating model.

In 2017, two school friends, Jean-Baptiste & Romain, chose to modernize the “fait maison” pâté in its original form, created by Les Conservistes.

Eager to revisit the established codes of artisanal gastronomy, they come together around two complementary visions. Making the “pâté glamorous”, while preserving a traditional know-how, inherited from their roots in the South-West. In 2019, Les Conservistes expanded and welcomed Yohan, a school friend and fervent supporter of the table and its pleasures.

Welcome to the surprising world of Les Conservistes.
The vision of the project : a traditional vision of canning, and an avant-garde spirit, this is the foundation of this great adventure. “Les Conservistes”: a tasty blend of tradition: “Les Conservateurs”, and modernism “Les Progressistes”. Today, the descendants of the 6th and 7th generation of the Malnou family grow their peppers in the middle of vineyards, orchards and peasant crops, under the spray of the Gave de Pau and the benevolent gaze of the Pyrenees. The pepper owes its characteristics of course to the terroir of this South-West where it grows, but also and above all to the maturing to which it is subjected for long weeks allowing the pepper to preserve all its organoleptic qualities. Behind the colors, the names and the aesthetics of our boxes, are passionate, sensitive and committed women and men. Cyril, 8th generation, took up the torch with the support of his wife Julie, to perpetuate the family tradition while infusing their personalities with a burst of renewal on the farm: “Armagnac is Back”, an opening to the future, full of promise.

Closely related to Vacherin Mont d’Or, this small cheese is designed to be eaten from the box. Made near the village of Cleron, high in the mountains of Franche-Comte, it is traditionally made at the end of the milking season, when the limited amount of milk is rich in fat and protein.

Cados is a soft cheese from the north of France. It has been ripened with Calvados, which is a strong French apple liquor. The white bloomy rind is covered with breadcrumbs, giving it a golden outer coat. It has a strong, creamy flavour with notes of apples from the Calvados.

Ingredients:

Camembert made from raw cow’s milk, salt, animal rennet, ferment (milk), breadcrumbs (gluten) 2%, calvados 1.2%.

Wines of Ribera del Duero:

Grapes, styles of wines and local regulation.

Ribera del Duero is one of Spain´s most prestigious wine regions. This wine region is located in Castilla Leon. Castilla Leon (north and north west of Madrid) is made up of 9 provinces and it is Spain´s number one region in terms of Unesco classified sites. Castilla Leon is full of Monasteries, castles, churches, cathedrals, fortresses…

Ribera del Duero is not one of Castilla y Leon provinces. It is a wine region. This means it has no administrative status other than for the production (and regulation) of the wines and wineries in this territory). Ribera del Duero is spread among 4 of the provinces of Castilla y Leon (Valladolid. Burgos – where most of the vineyards are located- Soria and a tiny bit of Segovia).


2- Ribera del Duero - Types of wines

The following styles of wines. The names use are similar to those of other Denominaciones in Spain, but the specifics may vary.
Joven or barrica

These wines cannot age for longer than 12 months. In the case of “true” joven wines there is actualy no aging. Barrica are normally aged in oak barrel for 4 months.
Crianza

They must stay at least 12 months in oak barrel and cannot be released before 24 months.
Reserva

36 months of aging and at least 12 months in oak barrels
Gran Reserva

60 months aging, at least 24 months.

The majority of the production is labeled as joven or barrica. There are 2 reasons at least for this: one is for sure the price of these wines, which is considerably lower than for the other types of wines. Then the second reason is a growing trend in Spain: an increasing amount of people eat informally: tapas, pinchos (or pintxos) meals are growing. This sort of meal demands less “serious” wines. ❤️ 🍷 🇫🇷

Finally the last two days of our Ribera del Duero campaign! We will leave you the last description of the three wines we promoted! The Vina Fuentenarro del Duero Crianza 2020 ( 4 months barrique). Available in store until Wednesday night , £19.50 the bottle and £4.50 the glass, thanks to our generous wine supplier askew wines. The vineyards are 810 meters above sea level , the terroir is clay , grape variety still Tempranillo 100 %. The age of the vineyards is 25 years , process is biodynamic and sustainable , weather is continental , barrels are 100% American oak. The wine itself is cherry color , with pretty purple trim, very bright with intense aromas of fresh red fruit and clean , light roasted and mineral sensations . The palate is sweet , fruity and fresh , with fine tannins and well integrated persistent finish .

As promised , the second wine tasting dedicated to the Ribera del Duero tasting on the 22nd April 2025, has seen a great attendance at Le Vacherin, organised by Le Vacherin Deli! This time we pushed more the Tinto Pesquera Crianza 2021: Pesquera is is one of the foremost Ribera del Dueros and their Crianza is one of their biggest selling wines . Also made 100% Tempranillo grapes, grown in their own vineyards , and is aged for 18 months prior to bottling. On the nose the aromas are of blackberries and plums with spicy hints and a touch of vanilla creaminess while the palate shows delicious ripe raspberry and cherry fruit flavours. There is plenty of power here which , coupled with the round tannins , give it a nicely and silky sleek in the lead up to a subtly spicy finish ! The producer is Familia Fernandez from 1972. 🇫🇷 🍷

Finally the dates are in ! Join us next Tuesday the 15th and the following the 22th April for the tasting of red wines from Ribera del Duro area! The grape variety is Tempranillo, glorious families such as the García & Fernández family are some of the producers, subtle are the differences between the 3 wines on offer : Tinto Pesquera Ribera del Duero Crianza 2021, Vina Fuentenarro Crianza 2020 & Vina Fuentenarro Ribera del Duero 4 meses en barrique 2022 red label. Thanks to our suppliers each bottle can be individually sold at £19.50 and a glass can be sold at £4.50! The offer is valid for the 2 entire weeks from the 14th to the 27th April 2025, we will serve food at an exceptional price of £21.50 from our express Lunch menu only on the two tasting days and when mentioning the Ribera del Duero offer !

Once upon a time, Jules Bordeau and Anna Chesnel, two lovers from Sarthois, whose passion for charcuterie took the art of making rillettes further than ever. After getting married, the two lovebirds opened an artisanal charcuterie in Yvré L’Evêque, near Le Mans. They worked hard and tried to differentiate themselves, for example by delivering their products by bicycle. One day, they had a genius idea: using lighter paraffin honey pots. They could offer their rillettes to travelers on the Paris-Rennes train line, which popularized their products. Today, the company has evolved significantly. But the recipe for success has remained the same: combining audacity and innovation!
