Have You heard about the Tiella? Back in the day on the coast of Gaeta in Italy fishermen used to go out for 2/3 days to fish and they needed something to eat during their permanence away from home. Their wives used to prepare this stuffed pizza mostly with the ingredients they had from fishing , like anchovies and octopus, and later started to fill this double sided the focaccia with Aubergines , cheese, eggs, artichokes and much more. It's very popular in the Gulf of Gaeta and we have a local bakery which makes the Tiella in Formia,following the original receipe, since 1958. Come and try our Tiella, bookings only, from Wednesday til Friday.
