MIDWINTER FOLK NIGHT

We’re sorry-but-happy to say *THIS IS SOLD OUT!*

if you have a ticket and can’t come please let us know!

And sign up to the folk night mailing list in our bio, or via and for hot off the press folk night announcements in the future.

Bring your instruments, your tankard and your best ballad. Or just come and sit in the corner and listen.

This will be a relaxed evening for sharing folk songs, learning folk songs and listening to others share their traditional music. We welcome whatever traditional means to you!

Music starts at 8PM. There will be food, and the evening is

pay-what-you-can

(or free if ticket prices are out of your reach).

Ticket contributions go directly to The Gleaners, to support the running of a community space and our ‘How To Host A Feast’ program, which offers cooking traineeships to people from migrant and asylum seeker communities in Walthamstow.

We cater for local community events and cook for things we believe in, such as protest encampments opposing genocide. Come! Sing! Support our work!

Our local food growers network in Waltham Forest has put together a beautiful object to help growers around the country plan and reflect on their work (and help us raise much needed funds to continue growing our movement locally).

It’s got space for you to jot down plans, reflect on experiments and record the details of new plants you’ve met. Alongside that we have scattered tips and offerings from community food growers across our borough in London throughout, as well as important anniversaries in the history of land rights and our suggestions for ethical suppliers of seeds and seedlings. A lovely winter gift 🎁

Why our friends say you should buy this:
“the WF FGN’s Year Planner is only going to help growers wean themselves off of global agribusiness’s control of food… 1/10” - Bill Gates

at the price that suits you best:
£6 - solidarity price for those on no or low income
£11 - standard price for everyone else
£15 - supporter price for those willing and able to give a bit extra to support the WF FGN

LIMITED EDITION GLEANERS T SHIRTS!

We have a few organic cotton Gleaners t shirts left. Printed locally using

They come up small - think baby t (this was our first trial, we’ll size up in future!).

Collectable during our Thursday Community Lunch 11-3, or whilst Gleaners events are on (e.g during a Folk Night or Housing Co-ops workshop).

They are £25! Ideally CASH please!

This is more expensive than our usual pickle products and pay-what-you-can food because we’re fundraising! Profits will go entirely toward paying for extra ingredients and trainee travel expenses for our ‘How To Host A Feast Traineeship’ for migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. We’d love to be able to give everyone cheap t shirts, but maybe we can’t have food justice AND free clothes from the Gleaners cafe.

PERPETUAL STEW 3: We joined and to cook a big stew in September!

Perpetual Stew 3 was a week long series of learning sessions on knowledge and land justice. Each night after a peer-to-peer workshop, talk, skillshare, song or project, everybody gathered to share a bowl of the perpetual stew.

We joined for a workshop held by and and Anti Oppression Circle on Legal Support 101 and Migrant Narratives - solidarity with care and intersectionality.

It was an honour and a hoot to cook up the Finale Perpetual Stew in its last form, with vegetables gleaned and given from allotments and friends across London.
