A look inside Ochre.
Inspired by the pigment ‘ochre’, the palette for the dining space is a mixture of earthy colours including burnt oranges, yellows and deep browns, which are then continued in the varied textiles within the restaurant.
Located within the ground floor of The National Gallery, original architectural details remain including high ceilings and expansive windows.
Banquette seating zig zags through the centre of the main space, while lighting is designed to feel as though you’re the one sitting inside a still life painting.
In the private dining room to the rear you’ll find an oversized chandelier that acts as a stunning focal point to the space.
A restaurant shaped by art, in every sense.

Creamy mushrooms on freshly toasted sourdough. One of our fan favourites here at Ochre, and for good reason.
We start with a selection of mushrooms, cut chunky for texture and heavily roasted in a hot pan to build deep colour and flavour. Shallots, garlic and thyme are gently softened, before everything comes together with a rich mushroom stock and vegan cream.
Finished with fresh chive, parsley, a squeeze of lemon, then served generously over thick, golden sourdough.
As a final touch, our house mushroom powder made from the trimmings.
This one is packed full of umami. A must-try next time you’re in.

This might just be the best cod in London.
Roasted cod, cooked skin-side down until golden and perfectly crisp, then gently basted with foaming butter and aromatics. Topped with fresh cockles and a beautiful, light chowder sauce.
Delicate and flaky, this one falls apart with the gentle touch of a fork. Don’t believe us? Come and try it for yourself.
