Our Rosie turned 5 at the end of February… and of course she requested a Barbie slime birthday cake 🎀
So that’s exactly what she got.
Like most parents, we’re only just getting around to sharing it now 😂 but it was too fun not to show you.
We love making bespoke birthday cakes and hosting family celebrations here at The Croft Tea Room in Orpington, whether it’s a children’s party, Afternoon Tea celebration or a special occasion.
It’s been a very busy week here and we’re fully booked all weekend for Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea.

We also host private Afternoon Tea parties, birthdays, baby showers and special celebrations, so today we are busy preparing something special.

Croft Tea Room in High Street, Orpington is a delightful community-based tea room that offers a unique experience to its customers. The tearoom is part of a catering social enterprise that also includes a local foods shop, outside catering service, and community focal point for local information, events, history, and heritage. The food served at Croft Tea Room is traditional home-cooked dishes and delicious home-baking prepared in their small open-plan kitchen using locally sourced produce from over 20 small producers and farms in Kent and surrounding counties.
What sets Croft Tea Room apart from other tea rooms is its commitment to sustainability. The building was constructed using recycled materials and wood, creating an architecturally designed ECO building that mirrors the style of the 18th century buildings opposite. This not only created a lovely new building but also helped kick start the regeneration of the southern end of the High Street.
The tearoom has created four new jobs (including one for a young person from the government’s Future Jobs Fund) and eight new volunteering opportunities for local people as well as work experience placements from local schools. They also offer space to local artists to display and sell their artwork, pottery, jewellery, food produce, plants, and other crafts.
Overall, Croft Tea Room is more than just a place to enjoy delicious food; it's a community hub that supports sustainability while providing employment opportunities for locals.
