🎥 Our recent Young Advisory Board session was such a joy! 💛

Our learners may spend a lot of time cooking in the kitchen, but they’re also busy cooking up ideas, sharing perspectives, and helping shape the future of Mahaba.

Every time we come together, we’re reminded just how valuable their insights are. Their unique experiences challenge us to think differently, see things from new angles, and build a more inclusive community for everyone.

We can’t wait to share some of the amazing ideas and outcomes from this latest session over the coming months ✨

And speaking of exciting things… tonight is our Comedy Night! 🎭

We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone for an evening of laughter, community, and support. Our learners have been part of making it all happen and can’t wait to see you there!

Have you noticed our new little shelf yet? 💛

At Mahaba, we believe our café should be a place for everyone — and now, you can help us spread a little extra kindness through our new Pay It Forward scheme ☕

Here’s how it works:

✨ Purchase an extra coffee or snack with your order
✨ We’ll write it on a Gift Tag and hang it on the shelf
✨ Anyone in need of a little support can take a tag and redeem it at the counter

A small gesture can make a really big difference.

Because kindness is always on our menu 💛

Help us share the Mahaba love and support members of our community who may need it most.

Young Advisory Board Update 🌟

We had an amazing day with our Young Advisory Board! Thanks to the warm welcome from the brilliant team at , we took advantage of the beautiful surroundings at Pavilion to engage in sports activities. Stay tuned for details on the big event we're planning—there's lots to look forward to! 🏃‍♀️

Back at Mahaba Café, our young advisors shared their thoughts on the excellent .working trainings and brainstormed ideas for our upcoming Graduation Ceremony and Comedy Gala. The room was buzzing with excitement, and we can't wait to bring it all to life. 🎓

To top it off, we proudly displayed their artwork from the last Advisory Board session. Their creativity never ceases to amaze us, and we are thrilled to have our young people’s art brighten up our café. 🎨

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed their voices to making Mahaba Café a space where our learners and graduates can share ideas, lead discussions, and help guide the café’s future.

Happy World Down Syndrome Day 💛

Today, we want to celebrate the incredible individuals with an extra chromosome who are part of Mahaba’s family. All of Mahaba’s young people with Down syndrome are uniquely wonderful individuals, bringing love, friendship, joy, and a touch of cheekiness into our lives. ✨

Please read more about ‘Sethu and Rathi’ in the blog post written by our talented volunteer Holly, and discover how Mahaba has played a crucial role in getting her back to her open, bubbly, and happy self.

“The team at Mahaba Café is a second family to us. They are caring, compassionate, and the support they give to my sister and me is life-changing.”

✨ Exciting news from Mahaba!

Our Wednesday lunch pop-up at Ealing Council Perceval House has officially begun 🎉

This initiative has been in the making for quite some time, and we are so happy to finally see it come to life. Every Wednesday we’ll now be serving pre-ordered lunches and snacks at Ealing Council — bringing Mahaba’s food and mission into a new space in our community.

What makes this project even more special for us is that it has created a real employment opportunity for one of our graduates, Rathi, who is now part of the team delivering this initiative. Seeing our learners move from training into meaningful work is exactly what Mahaba is all about 🤍

We’ve worked hard to make this possible, and we’re incredibly proud to see it happening. This is another step towards our goal of creating sustainable employment opportunities for more of our graduates.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen — and to the team at Ealing Council for supporting this project.

Here’s to many more Wednesdays! ☕🥗

🤔Did you know that in the UK, only about half of working-age individuals with disabilities are employed?

At Mahaba, we are committed to changing this.

Recently, we hosted our first Disability Awareness Training with one of the businesses we work with — creating space for open conversations about disability, autism, and inclusion in the workplace.

Through our training sessions, we support businesses and teams to:
• better understand disability and neurodiversity
• feel more confident working alongside people with disabilities
• challenge assumptions and barriers in the workplace.

If your organisation needs support or would like to learn more, reach out — we’re here to help 🤍

Our learner Molly has great taste ☕👜

She’s rocking our brand new Mahaba tote bag — and of course, she couldn’t resist popping one of our Mahaba coffee bags inside 💫

Good news: we still have a limited number of coffee bags available, so if you’ve been meaning to grab one… this is your sign 👀

Our totes are £12 each — perfect for coffee runs, daily essentials, or carrying a little piece of Mahaba with you 🤍

Molly’s packed her bag with coffee — what would you put in yours? ✨

Do you know the difference between a latte and a cappuccino? ☕️

This week we’ve been learning our menu in a fun, hands-on way:
breaking down each drink, what goes into it, and the milk-to-coffee ratios.

Learning by doing, drawing, and talking it through helps turn theory into real skills they can use when serving customers.

Because confidence starts with understanding 💛

Hooray! We made it through the first week of the year!🥳

How are we feeling?😁
